1, I race cars, so if you feel that's aggressive, ok.

Growing up your WHOLE life, when you 'floored' all the 'standard' cars in your life that did not have electronically controlled throttle bodies, this is how it always has been... when you floored it... your TB was Wide Open!

Again... the 'only' negativity in this thread is from people who have never owned it. So... Honestly... that's like a bunch of people saying 'don't get this exhaust'... but they still run the stock one?

Go check out the M5 board, if you'd like to get some feedback from people that actually USE THIS MOD!

Either way... honestly... I was trying to give feedback (with experience) to the OP.

I don't care if no one buys it, I don't sell them... just sharing how great of a mod they are. (IMO)

I do undertstand your driving preference, I just don't understand how you do it. It has nothing to do with flooring it. Turning up the pedal response that much makes it a toggle switch for me. Either WOT or not. You said you drive in sport+ and use this mod, but that it is not jumpy. That boggles me, still. If I ever end up in AZ, you're taking me for a ride!

Sounds like a deal Locksmythe! It's definitely not jumpy... and in my M5... I not only always ran in M mode, maxed out... w/ the SprintBooster... I had the RPI (Powerchip) tune... and too me... it just felt the way the gas pedal should have always felt.

But again, not many people drive these cars every day in M mode, with everything Maxed out, and DSC off.

Peace,
Dave

I do too, but I still can't see spending $300 for no more HP, when I can spend about $800 for an ECU tune and accomplish more aggressive throttle mapping and more HP.

Sorry if someone already asked this question. Would this be applied with an ecu tune also ? Would it make the sprint booster obsolete because of the ecu throttle remap ? I'm getting a flash and wanted to see if the sprint booster is even worth it at that point. Thanks

It's still worth it IMO... but your flash will help greatly.

Don't you love when people bash something they have never tried.

This is how every sprint booster thread goes, no matter what forum.

The haters are the ones that have never owned/tried one.

I find the sport and sport + settings too aggressive. As my instructors at M school always said, smooth is fast and said that normal mode is the best. Wouldn't sprintbooster make things worse?

No hating, but the drive by wire system response can be "tricked" in one of two ways. The Sprint Booster which intercepts the gas pedal signal and outputs a "faster" voltage to the ECU, or a reflashed ECU that can have the exact same throttle speed with the stock gas pedal by remapping at the same velocity as the Sprint Booster.

Same thing. Only difference is the parameters used by Turner versus the ECU tune.

Same thing. No possible rebuttle, except to say Turners settings are the bomb. However, to tell people that this is in any way different than what is capable of with an ECU tune is misleading.

This may be a nice mod for those with no custom tune IMHO.

Would you suggest getting the most aggressive mapping? I also think the Power button could provide a little better throttle response. Rev matching with the power button off is downright horrible.

dogears... it's clear you do not have the sprintbooster... and thus why you have such positive feedback.

it's clear... that a tune can improve throttle response.

it's clear (to most) that a sprint booster will improve whatever your mapping is.

I've raced cars all my life... and when I put the gas pedal to the floor... i want each and eveythrottle body opened up 100%... the sad fact is even the most agressive tunes out there... still do not do this... and even coupling it WITH the sprint booster you will never get 100% of the throttle bodies opened in that split second... but it will be 'closer' to real time. IMO.

Can we find a person who HAS the sprint booster... and DOESN'T like it?

<insert crickets here>

Just installed it and I have to say it has transformed the throttle application. MUCH more linear throttle response. No more jerkyness in Sport mode. Well worth the cost.

I just pulled the trigger and ordered one for my M3 yesterday I can't wait to get it in the mail and get it installed. Only problem for me is that I am still deployed. I will just get my friend to install it for me and tell me what he thinks. This mod will finally put a end to my mod virus adventure for awhile I can't think of anything else to do to my M3 and a super charger is out of the question.

For the e9x application, you cannot choose the mapping. I assume it is mild.

Dave,

I was not criticizing the Sprintbooster. I was saying that it is misleading to say that the you cannot program the ECU to do the same thing. Just because no ECU tuner has chosen to map as aggressively, does not mean that it is not possible. That is all I am saying.

Clearly the Sprintbooster is doing something that available off the shelf tunes are not. But, any custom tune could replicate the throttle deltas is desired. Maybe the tuners will do it now.

Lastly, what makes you so sure that we don't get 100% throttle opening? I have heard that we do from knowledgeable sources.
