So in the morning (it was pretty cold for socal) plus it is a parking structure so even colder. Clutch pedal stuck to the floor and couldnt get in gear. Turned off car retried and it was fine.

Then tonight, put in gas, then proceeded to put air in my tires. Left the car on acc. Bluetooth connection was getting static playing music

Got back in the car and deliberately tried to start the car without shutting down first.

The starter was just firing forever but not starting the engine. As i held the clutch in it was just sparking or however you would describe it. ...... That quick spark and crank before engine start up. It just went for as long as i held the clutch in.

So i shut down the car, did it again and it started fine. It has started fine since then (a few start ups after that). Fucking weird. Im labeling both as one of the things that happen once in a lifetime as with so many other users on here. If it happens again i shall take her in to service but pretty much the dealership wont be able to replicate it ever - we all know that

May have to bleed the clutch ober the long weekend i suppose. Maybe look at spark plugs too?

Thoughts? Comments? Experience with the same thing?

I've been told by my service rep that sometimes there are some queertrons that cause a glitch, then starts normal but it'll through a code stored in your smart key so worth heading to the dealer and see if they can pull it up.

Once and so far only once after I purchased my M brand new, I had some sort f electrical issue where most of the steering wheel and iDrive buttons didn't work. Car started and drove fine but it was alarming. I shut down, went to lunch and came back and started fine as if nothing happened. But I never did get to the dealer that week to see what the hell it was.

Spoke to my tech and he did mention that someone elses clutch pedal went to the floor recently. But his situation is when the pedal came back up, it wouldnt go back down. Clutch disc needed replacement. Going in monday as the car is fine as of now.

I wonder if throw out bearing got stuck in one of the pressure plate levers or teeth or whatever they are called.

Well I have a 2008 that that had the old clutch and pressure plate… I had to purchase a new clutch/pressure plate/flywheel on my own dime.. My car had 32k miles on it and was 13 months out of warranty.. BMW wouldn't goodwill it. My failure was due to a faulty pressure plate… the clutch disk had 80% life left on it.
I would be surprised if the 2009+ assembly has the same problem as its much beefier and feels better than my old 2008 setup.

Im pretty sure its normal and ive never thought of it before. But if you hold the shift knob and press clutch and release could you feel any mechanical movement through the gear stalk? Im pretty sure i felt something in every manual car ive driven. But now im just paranoid.

Shit it did the starter thing again. Since i knew what was happening i pressed stop and retried and of course it worked.

Hmm. Maybe the clutch is not fully engaged? But then it wouldnt fire right?

Now i have to take it in monday.
