So far all of the runs have started in Northern VA. We do a different route each time and don't always go on Skyline Drive but always drive over a mountain or two, thus the 'Skyline' part of Skyline Run

This last Run started in Front Royal, VA at the Apple House and drove over back mountain roads into West VA and back. It's a 1 day thing lasting about 6-7 hours total (includes eating and talking about cars). We might do a longer 2 night event in the future. There has been some talk of taking the group to a track as well.

Stay tuned.

We're doing it again this year in the middle of the summer most likely. Stay tuned to the Mid-Atlantic forums.

All those great cars and the one that catches my eye, makes me salivate and focus on in the photos is the... E30! But I am a bit biased.

How does the charity bit work? Donate to drive? Pledge per mile? I think that is a cool idea.

It's a donate to drive. This one was $50 and completely tax deductible.

While I agree High Performance driving is safest at the track, you alienate people by doing that, friends, wives, etc. And Track Atmosphere is completely different then cruising. And a completely different budget all together. A group of enthusiasts should always take cruises, it's the most fun way to experience the world around us

If there is a group of folks that wants a more aggressive driving experience that can easily be had, it's just outside the WV Line. I have talked to DarkStar about doing this later in the season. More to come when him and I have a chance to chat it up and look/drive some routes.

I promise no tractors

I am pleased to announce that the Mid-Atlantic Bimmerpost crew will be formally recognized by the National Fragile-X Foundation for its generosity. I forwarded info about this event to the Foundation, and they are naturally very, very appreciative. News of the event will be published in an upcoming fundraising publication from the Foundation, along with the names of any participants who wish to be recognized. The privacy of those who wish to remain anonymous will of course be respected.

I sent Darkstar a PM regarding this development to make sure he is recognized as the organizer of the event and to seek any comments he may want included in the article--any other participants who wish to be included in the upcoming article can PM their names and (optionally) general places of residence to me before 4/26. As I am a NFXF supporting member, the Foundation has requested a picture of my family with our M3-- Darkstar--a picture of you with your car would be a nice addition, as well, if you would like for me to try and have that added.
