Was that with the Z07 package?

I'm really not a fan of the C7 design, but I might be able to stomach owning one in black. The performance, however, can not be argued with.

The skidpad and slalom numbers are truly insane, and it isn't even the Z06! Every other manufacturer has their work cut out for them if they even want to try to compete with the lap times these things are going to put down...

Just to clarify, is this the C7 Z06? Why is it 460HP? I know the older C6 Z06 has 505HP.

No base C7.

Next Z06 is rumored to have 600hp.

This car is amazing. I can't even consider an M3 anymore, not even in the same league!

The aftermarket is itching to get their hands on this car too. The PCM has already been cracked and tuners have been rifling through it for awhile now. The computer is much more complex than the versions found in the C6. Should be able to get ahold of it and have boltons ready by spring though. I think the engine has way more left in it.

The high performance version will most likely have a S/C LTx under the hood. Should be absolutely brutal. Thanks to the eLSD and more forgiving handling, it shouldn't bite you in the ass as quickly as the C6 Z06 could.

Fueling will be more difficult, lets see how the vette aftermarket deals with direct injection.

I agree. The market is so big that there is a huge incentive for the nut to be cracked.

Now, that's a good point also remember when they came out with the Coyote (mustang direct injection) tunes it took a while for them to get the direct injection going and there were a lot of blown engines. Even putting a cold air intake on the cars without tunning was running the engine so lean they were having issues.

The Coyote isn't DI.

I'm not sure how he Z06 is going to separate itself from this car enough to justify a purchase. The performance numbers are already super car-esque.

I think they can do so by offering ~600hp for the z06. The ZR1 is really the odd man out. I think they have the opportunity of raising the price of the ZR1 to and using lightweight materials to drop a couple hundred pounds. Adding much more hp than 600 is silly for a FR car. But dropping weight it always nice.

Probably won't be a ZR1. The C7 will apparently be a short run.

No ZR1 makes sense, unless they decide to make a C7 ZR1 more in the form of what Porsche does with the RS.

I wouldn't bet against a ZR1 after what they did with the C6. The C7 probably won't run as long as the C6 but a one or two year model isn't out of the question. The Z06 should be introduced with the C7R in January. The C6Z was also introduced at Detroit.

Short as in like the C8 will debut in about 4 years.
