I recently made a post asking for the comparison between the g1 and 625 kits to see which made more power. The conclusion is that they were both the same with the g1 having a slight advantage (feel free to comment if you feel otherwise). So now I am 90% settled on one the the g series kits but I am having a hard time deciding if the g1 or g1+ (or if you strongly feel something else please comment) is the better option for me.
I don't track my cars but instead drive my cars, with a purpose, on the street. I like hitting back roads where I can give it a gear pull or less in between turns for a long stretch of road, on the highway in clear spots I will drop a few gears a do a pull at each safe opportunity I get. Every once in a while I will line up with someone for the fun of it. I tell myself I will autox some day but I've been telling myself that for 6 years and it hasn't happened yet. The big question is that regardless of what kit I get will I be desiring meth injection? Is my driving style enough to heat soak the engine to a point where I will notice a decrease in power? The reason I ask is that if I will likely be desiring meth injection then I will be kicking myself for not going with the g1+ off the bat because then I can take advantage of the smaller pulley (ess claims this is meth only) that already comes with the kit. If the answer is likely no then the g1 should suit my needs as I don't think an extra $3k ish (1.75k for g1+ + 1.25k ish for meth) will justify the small bump in power from the g1. However if I would want meth regardless of the kit then I would only be paying 1.75k for the extra hp of the g1+ which is very similar price per HP of the g1 kit. On another note it would be nice to see some dyno charts of the g1+ but I can't seem to find them, especially compared to the g1. Thanks! |

I think you've been overthinking this way too much.
Seems like your driving style is very similar to mine, except I hit the canyons a lot here in SoCal. With that said, I've yet to even run into cooling issues. Save your money, and spend that extra $3k on do88's cooling package and upgraded subframe bushings!

Go with the G1+ and the 92mm pulley and a mix of e85(2 or 3 gallons) if you dont have 93oct close to you, if you desire more power then swap the 88mm pulley and get a meth injection kit.

Thats odd, one vendor says the 88mm is with meth only and 92mm with 93oct and ESS website is both with meth only. Maybe try the G1+ with a 94mm and go from there, I have a 96.5mm with the AFD system running up to 45% e85 and it runs great. I might step down to a 94mm later on.

G1+ does NOT require meth to run
It gives an option for it. I have G1+ and don't use meth. The G1+ kit has a bit more juice then the G1 base. Also, your over thinking it lol. Get the G1+ kit and if you ever have the need for meth you can just add it and get a new tune from ESS lol |

I ordered the G1 for my E93 earlier this month straight from ESS. Be prepared for a few weeks lead time on these since they are getting tons of orders right now!
