Wanted: BMW Performance Steering Wheel
I'm just curious if anyone is going to upgrade to the new electronic performance steering wheel and already has the older electronic performance steering wheel. If so, I'd like to take it off your hands. I don't know exactly when the new wheel is going to be made available but if you are thinking of selling one then let me know. Thanks. There is the BMW Performance Steering Wheel I, which is the electronic one with the lap timer, etc and then there's the BMW Performance Steering Wheel II, which is the all alcantera with a flat bottom that is non electronic. The new steering wheel is the best of both the I and II steering wheels. I think the best way to describe it is that it is just like the II wheel but also incorporates the electronics from the I steering wheel. http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/acc...ing_wheel.html OLD NEW

Tischer is selling the old wheels for 895 but I think they are trying to get rid of them for the new wheels coming in. http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462 They aren't available yet, and if they were then I would definitely consider it, but if I can get a bargain on the older wheel then that will most likely take priority.

Craig, have you seen the 'old' one in person? They had one at my dealer and I was checking it out last night. It looks better in pics IMO. The leather upper part isn't as nice as I expected. I also didn't like how far the electronics were recessed into the wheel.
I haven't seen the new one in person yet, but it's looks MUCH nicer. I'm waiting for it. I emailed a few vendors including tischer about it and nobody has any info on when it'll come out. |
