car arrived
Got a call yesterday that my car was at the dealership. I was up on Whidbey island at the time, but ended up getting everything done and out the door late yesterday afternoon. I instructed the dealership to not touch the exterior so today I will detail.
Just a couple of remarks. This is my 5th BMW. I started with a 530 in 01 and then an e46M3 in 03 followed by a 550 in 06 and a 335 which I modified and tuned in 07. I know this sounds like an obsessive compulsive BMWphile and yes that is true. I can tell you right now that I am going to love this car! It may not be quite as fast in a stright line as my 335 (which is going to my brother in law), but it is plently fast. I have that same feeling of total control I had in my e46 M3 but it is way more comfortable. I can't wait to take this car to some driving events. With 30 miles now on the odometer I can say that this car is nay impossible to keep under 5500 rpms. I am aiming for a moderately aggressive breakin, but the engine revs so quickly I will need a lot of discipline to keep it under 5500. Pictures to come later today. Totally and completely satisfied with no buyer's remorse.

Congratulations. Maybe some of that special veterinarian horse sedative will help you keep the revs below 5500? j/k Enjoy.

At first I was aghast at the brushed aluminum trim w/ Fox Red and then I looked at it some more and I suddenly liked it. Good choice!

I really like it. With the alcantra headliner and the lack of a moonroof the cabin can be a bit somber. The alum trim brightens it up and the contrast is nice. I had to go on pictures only, but I am very pleased.

Beautiful! What a great day to pickup your car. What dealership? Are you going to leave the front plate off?

Congrats Dawgdog! Looks sharp.
Where did you buy the car? Seattle? Bellevue? Who did you work with? Are you happy with the transaction? And of course... How is DCT? ;-) Thanks.

Thanks for the kind remarks. I purchased the car from BMW Seattle. This is my 5th new BMW from that dealership. I am very happy with the transaction.
The car is awesome! Love DCT but then again I loved SMGII on my e46M3. Only negative so far is that this car is really sucking the gas. I have not been babying it, though, and on the few occasions I was on the highway it seemed OK. Luckily my round trip commute is 3 miles. Have to work this morning but this afternoon I'm going to have to do some dedicated breaking in.

Definitely get in touch with me when you get your car. Exciting! I am kind of detailing nut, so if you need any assistance we could do it together.
