Question for Akra Slip-on Owners that went full EVO later

Did you notice much of a difference in sound when you added the Akra midpipe? I currently have the slip on only.

Have installed a few, tone gets deeper & loudness changed but still maintains the sporty tone. If there is meet in the area then you guys should check it out to compare the sound differences.

Akrapovic priced the mid-pipe the same as buying the evolution system as a whole. They usually keep them in stock but just have to pay twice for installation.

I'd say there was less difference than I was expecting. Definitely louder in all aspects, but still quiet enough on the freeway not to bother the missus.

Lots of people notice an additional resonance, 3000-4000rpm with the Akrapovic midpipes, similar to the resonance present with an aftermarket filter, only louder. That's the only downside.

That's right. I went for slip-on from EVO. That intake resonance between 3000-4000 rpm was the main reason. I still couldn't figure out the reason of this resonance.

Also at low rpms the car was more bassy, and when the windows were closed, that bassy sound annoyed me more than just slip-on makes. Downshifts were louder especially in S4-5-6 mode on DKG equipped cars.

Moreover, I noticed that EVO system has increased my fuel consumption by approx. 20%. I'm not sure about the reason but I'm not imagining.

Is there a better midpipe that doesn't have the resonance issue the Akra one does, and will bolt up easily?

Its about 20-25% louder with the midpipe I would say.
When I first added the midpipe I thought maybe it was too much, but now I love it and would never go back.
