Catless - check engine light - how soon?

if I removed primary cats, on stock tune, how quickly would that check engine light come on? Then, if I cleared it, would it come back on fairly soon? Or is it every 4000 KM's/miles (thought I saw that somewhere)?

Mine came on 500 miles later during a road trip of mostly 80 mph cruising.

it depends on how you drive it. If you baby the throttle and stay at a constant speed under 3k RPM it will show up faster. If you drive more aggressively then it will take longer.

^Yep. The first time I went catless, CEL came on within a few hours. Was just cruising. Later, BMW had to update my DME, so I lost my tune. Drove like an idiot the next several days. No CEL. Loaded my tune back on and all is well.

Correct.

Heavy throttle fluctuations, high RPM use, and exceeding 65 MPH will delay the error from being set.

Cat efficiency is mainly measured on leisurely drives w/ sufficient coasting phases.
