It really depends on your goal. If staying NA, headers. If you want to be boosted, sc. Youll get more power/$ with a sc kit

Read and follow post #7! headers are cool on domestic cars because most have exhaust manifilds which are terrible. Our M3's are designed very well. Thats why most of the exhaust systems produce very little power if any. including headers. the only real power gain is eliminating the cats which then get you into other issues with DMV and roadside smog tests (Ive seen a few in the valley) ...

Don't be afraid of the rod bearing issue.... just do blackstone oil analysis regularly and they will indicate abnormal metal wear.

Enjoy the car.

Headers aren't worth it UNLESS you're supercharged.

Has anybody figured out how Blackstone will help on 2010.5 - 2014 engines without lead/copper bearings?

I don't think so RG. I've been following your and Kawasaki's information...thank you for continuing to search for a productive fix to the rod bearing issue.

As for the leadless bearings...I'm not sure what one would look for in a UOA. Maybe higher levels of copper. But I don't think anyone has any clue what would be indicative of "abnormal" wear.

I feel as though the "get an oil analysis" answer may be more about peace of mind, particularly for those of us with the leadless bearings. I admit, I've gotten one and it showed higher than "average" levels of copper. But I couldn't tell you what that means...if anything. :
