DIY: Soft Close Doors BMW M3
Hi guys! I will tell you how I fixed the Soft Close Doors on my BMW M3...
Automatic locks installed from BMW 6 E63 (sorry, photo of the lock is not mine and from the Internet) Part number: 51 21 7202159 51 21 7202162 Need to buy connectors to these castles and wires. I bought the wire sold by the metre. 1. Remove the plastic cover door. 2. Install locks on doors. Locks fit perfectly 3. Next was the complexity of how to install a motor lock. We decided to make a bracket from carbon. I made the first model out of cardboard. Next, my friend did it out of carbon. (Hand made) Left side: Right side: We decided to connect the wires to the fuse box. But you can get food from the window regulator. 4. Remove the glove box. There we see of the fuse box. Pave the wire through the door to block with fuses. (wire from each lock) We have chosen 2 empty space, hooked up the wires and install fuses. 5. Сollect glove box. Collect a covering of doors. Here's how it works That's all! Hope this helps you! Good Luck! Last edited by Alex-R-1; 11-28-2013 at 12:15 PM.. |

Wow that is very cool. I hate the soft close myself because I always end up slamming the door anyway, but this is nicely done!
P.S. Bad ass looking car and garage btw

Can you give me a quick rundown on how to remove the door panel? I recently got hit RIGHT in my door handle and now I can't open my door... I want to get inside and try to repair the handle-lock linkage until I get the car fixed next month.
