I kind of want to get a set just to do this. It seems like a fun project.

What kind of paint stripper did you use? Do you have a name for it?

I used Rustoleum Auto Stripper in a spray can. Picked it up from AutoZone.

I think this color would look great on Space Grey, it works better if you have dark wheels, the contrast really makes them pop out. Yes I have plastic lug bolt covers on.

Definitely do not track it and expect the paint to survive. I have gotten well over 550F.

Yes, those look like the Audi plastic covers. ECS sells them for like $2 each. Nice alternative to having rusty gross bolts.

**UPDATE** - Looking into G2 paint as a long term / higher temp alternative. I spoke to them and they said if I send them a can of VHT they will try to match the color. I'm going to give it a shot and see what they respond.

Is this a powder coat "paint?"

Can you list everything you used from the pain stripper, to the primer, paint and clear coat? You should post this in the DIY section if you can provide all the info in detail.

Great job! Thanks.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."
