Adding Brake Cooling Hose To Forcewerkz Gt4-s

thinking about picking up a forcewerkz gt4-s splitter but they do not have the 3" tubes attached to the splitter for brake cooling...how would you attach the 3" tubing for brake cooling? anyone ever done this?

I have seen the Forcewerkz splitter, RKP, and Mode Carbon version. I can not think of a decent way to attach tubing to the Forcewerkz splitter. The hole in the spoiler is oddly shapped and at an angle. It would be extremely difficult to attach hoses without it looking ghetto. Both the Mode Carbon and the RKP versions are set up for hoses to easily attach. I just got my Mode Carbon GT4 splitter and am very impressed. I have not yet installed it so I can't yet comment on fitment but the build quality is solid.

You could probably epoxy or rivet the Apex Ducts to that lip.

I don't know yet as I haven't installed it. I am however hearing that it somehow offers a little more clearance than Mode Carbon's GTS V2 lip. Apparently the GT4 lip has a slight upward trajectory at the tip which aids in clearance.

I think that would be possible but It will look like crap; plus those ducts are expensive which somewhat defeats the purpose of buying a cheap lip. I guess if the OP doesn't care about aesthetics then it's not a big deal. I prefer the clean install offered by Mode's GT4.

thanks bud... i only ask as i have multiple vendors who sell both forcewerkz and modecarbon and all of them say the forcewerkz appear to be far superior quality... the rkp looks almost better then the other from the pictures but cost alot more as well

looks does play a part but a track run off that destroys a 500$ lip is much easier to take vs a 2k lip

The Forcewerkz lips actually do fit flawlessly when installed and indexed on the stock bumper correctly. There are no gaps or unwanted spacing. It is very tight and precise.

They are very strong as well with an impeccable finish (CF version).

Brake ducting on the GT4 lip is of no use if the brake ducts actually do not get plumbed to the brake dust shields. If there is no ducting, the ports should actually be blocked off for track duty to properly use the splitter.

Mode Carbon is the only aftermarket company I would buy my CF parts from, quality is amazing and fitment is top notch. I understand why you would want a cheaper product, but I am not going to go cheap and have to deal with gaps and fitment issues.

Bimmerworld is nice but money.. I gotta laugh when people say theres' reps on Ebay but don't wanna go there? You setting up the car for the track no? And teh fitment I have seen firsthand is great.

I would be hard pressed, rather amazed, to see one of these companies making lips (BTW they're all making rep lips of other copies, no?) that are made in the good ole US of A.

Nearly all this carbon is coming from overseas.

In other words, letting air slip through the splitter and taking away from it's purpose.

Mode Carbon

"Achieved better fitment with this lip than my previous one. - Powerbeast

"Lip fit great!" - BarryC

More pictures of fitment quality.

Lastly,

Forcewerkz

No brake ducts, not sure what process they use to make their products.

Mode Carbon

Our carbon fiber products are made using a dry layup, vacuum infusion manufacturing process. This results in pin straight weave and consistency, as well as a better resin ratio (meaning we can use less resin and create a lighter, stronger composite). When held side by side, the difference is clear between our dry process and other wet layup processes that a lot of the cheaper carbon fiber is made from. Also, our products are finished in a UV-protected clear coat that will prevent warping and discoloration due to prolonged sun exposure. All raw materials come from Germany, France and Japan, final assembly in the US.

We also guarantee our quality and Fitment. We've had a lot of customers that had previously installed the cheaper versions before being completely dissatisfied and switching over to our Mode Carbon product. We will never sell you anything that does not pass our strict quality control, no exceptions.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

what does "final assembly in the US" mean really?

I have the RKP GT4, fitment is great and very durable.

I have seen two separate Forcwerkz GT4 lips in person and fitment was great. A great inexpensive alternative.

I considered brake ducts on my GT4 lip but the install and upkeep is not worth the trouble. My BBK works plenty fine on the track. That being said, there are some good DIY guides if you really think its worth it. Turner Motorsport sells steering limiters which you will need in order to avoid crushing your ducting. I actually have a set that I will sell you if you decide to move forward.

As an aside. The RKP and Forceworkz lips are best installed with full removal of the front bumper and bolting them in. I believe both use about 10 bolts.
