I like this idea! And some CF might compliment it really nice as well

Uh, yes he would.
I would get rid of the M3 and move up to an 2012 Audi R8 with $10k cash and the M3 as trade in. Come out of there with $500-$700 a month car payment. Done and done. Hell I would even consider a ZR1. For me insurance is not that much for a Gallardo or R8 with my history. I wasted $30k in 2001 on my old S2000. $15k on my old NSX and about $10k on my M3 already. As you get older mods become less and less necessary. Spend the $10k on your home or family or go with a new R8. Make sure your wife can drive it too.

this is the wrong forum to ask about originality. we all have the same splitters/lips, exhausts, diffusers and BBS/Volk rims. (i'm no different)
maybe the best advice i've read on this thread is to give your money to someone like IND and let them go crazy, or buy a rare car that even in stock form looks "original" because you don't see it often |

I don't know about the OP, but I enjoy that special feeling of exclusivity - that few out there are unique (in a good way) like me. I think it's human nature. I appreciate the admiring looks, compliments, and maybe even respect from my peers. So since the OP asked about original ideas, while this one isn't terribly original (then again, few ideas truly are), it hasn't been mentioned yet in this thread.
Instead of spending your $10K on modding your car (something anyone with $10K and a M3 could replicate), how about modding your driving skills? Take the money, attend some driving schools, get a set of track wheels and RS3s then go dominate your local BMW CCA autocross events in the M Stock class. You'll have the admiration and compliments your desire and the satisfaction that people aren't just impressed by your car (and wallet), but by you and your skill. Just a thought...
