Car @ Billy Boat for Exhaust R&D

Guys, I just wanted to let you know that my car is currently at Billy Boat Exaust for R&D of a full new exhaust system! I will pick it up Friday, and it will sound much better. I can't wait to hear it. They said they will most likely do an x-pipe & rear section. We will see!

Nice! Billy Boat wanted to use mine last year, but I just couldn't give up my ride for a week... I'd love to hear it in person when its done. I'm still trying to decide on what exhaust to get.

Luckily I could give it up for a week. I also contact Baer Brakes to see if they wanted to do a big brake kit, but they did not right now. Oh well.

Oh reaaaaally? B&B was the final exhaust on my e46 (I went through 5) and I loved it, although I had to double resonate it to negate the drone and rasp. Looking forward to hearing what they can do on the e92, keep us posted

I will keep you posted. Hopefully they send me some pictures. If not, I will get pictures of it all on my car this weekend.

Construction quality and finishing look very nice. Enjoy! What is retail on the system?

The quality of the fabrication is AMAZING! It really truly amazed me how well everything looked. They told me retail will be $1,695.00.

Those are actual pictures of my car, so yes. It is still the stock ride height.

The picture below is from 360 Forged's website, not my car.

I'm assuming retail of $1700 is for the axle-back, not full headerback? How loud is it (louder than Eisenmann race, etc.)? Deep v8 rumble or more F1 high-pitched? Any before/after dyno's? Looking forward to more pics & vids, thx!

Looks nice. Great price too.

Just the rear section? I ask because you mentioned earlier they might do an x-pipe.

They ended up just doing a rear section for now. In the future, they might do an x-pipe with certain cat/resonator arrangements.

I have not heard any other exhaust in person, so I don't know how it compares. It is definitely not a high pitched exhaust at all. It is amazingly low toned, and pretty smooth. There is no burble to it, I would call it refined I guess. It is even very smooth and low at high revs.

They did dyno it, and I am supposed to get the graphs on Monday or Tuesday from them. They said it picked up HP over all, and that is all I know. One definite benefit was that it weighed a ton less.

I believe that has to do with engineering and design of BMW's engine not the design of the mufflers.

Post up some video clips. Looks nicely done.

No sound clips yet. There is a slight drone at low RPM's, but it is ever so slight, and not annoying.
