19x10 ET20 square setup.. tire size?

Patiently waiting for my MORR VS8.2 19x10 ET20 square setup. I was going to go with 265/30/19 tires on all 4 corners (ala: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=439800) since I had coilovers and I could make the potential wheel gap disappear with the slightly shorter tires than stock. Unfortunately I am back on RD sport springs due to reasons which will be named later.

Few dilemmas. As we all know, OEM sizes are 245/35/19 and 265/35/19 and a 265/30/19 is .3" shorter in the front and a big .6" shorter in the rear and with the coils it wouldn't be a problem since I could lower the car and it wouldn't be noticeable. A 275/35/19 is perfect for the rear (I ran them both on my OEM 220 wheels (19x9.5) and on my BBS LMs (19x10)).. but I will probably rub in the front. So what do I do? What if I run a 265/30/19 front and 275/35/19 or even 285/35/19 rear? Staggered tires on square wheels.. am I crazy? Potential handling disruption? I am planning on tracking the car (not avidly this summer, but once or twice) and this would be my only set of wheels. I do enjoy a great handling car since that's what a big part of the M3 is and I don't want to sacrifice that strictly for looks.

275/35/19 rear on 19x10 BBS LM - http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...15&postcount=4

I pulled the trigger on the 19x10 ET20 square MORR's because of the concativity (is that a word?) and I know a 19x10 will look awesome on the front without a spacer and maybe a 5mm spacer in the rear to make it perfectly flush.

Suggestions on the tires dilemma?

Pic of wheels coming soon.

Was considering the same exact thing but with the VS8.2 in 20's when they come out. I also really like the concavity of the rears and wish they were on the front aswell. Anyways, many people are running 285/30/20's on the rear with a 10" wheel so you will be fine with a 285/35/19 as its pretty much the same overall rolling diameter. I would be concerned about doing anything bigger then a 265 in the front, and even that might have some potential rubbing issues especially being lowered. I dont know if you looked at the threads on the E90 forums of the VS8.2, but someone posted a 265 on the 10" rear with continental DW's and it looked very stretched in my opinon. Might just be that tire since the OEM ZCP wheels are 10" and they are running 265. I definately wouldnt go any less then 265 on a 10" wheel.

Car is lowered as well.

holy crap. What are the offsets on those wheels? You think the 275/35 will fit in front?! I just can't see that happening unless considering you are dropped, unless the offsets are super conservative?

I definitely look forward to seeing this!

Front offset is going to be ET25.

Rear offset is going to be ET5.

So the front is essentially a zcp rear with 275/35/19? I ask because I put my rear zcp wheel in the front one time for fun to see how it would look with the concave, and there was no way that was going to work when I turned the steering wheel. I didn't try to drive it though...

I am running vreds- maybe you are going with a tire that runs narrow/rounded sidewalls? Adding camber?

Michelin PS2 all around.

I put my ZCP's on the front before and moved the car around just fine. I tried it with a 15mm spacer too, but that was just brutally dangerous.

Stock ZCP 10" fitment up front is pretty much perfect. It's flush, it fits and looks amazing.

Oh crap, I think I may have had my front spacer on the car when I tried it on. I definitely look forward to seeing if you can make it work. I am going to be swapping my wheels out today or tomorrow, so I will have a chance throw the rear on the front again (and make sure there is no spacer). I still can't imagine a 275/35 set-up will work, esp on a lower car- but if you do big from me!

There's no way a 275/35 will fit in the front. I'd try 275/30/19. That's what I plan to run on 19 x 9.5 wheels.

does this then make the rear look odd...by comparison to the front (as in smaller)

As I mentioned above, I don't have the stock tires- I have 275/35/19 vreds. I am not going to try to drive (don't want to f*ck anything up), just see if I can even turn the steering wheel...

I test fitted a 265/30/19 on 19x10 ET20 today. Clears everything. Want to go wider, will keep testing.

OEM ZCP with 275/35/19 BUT a photoshopped drop, and I can't seem to find the original pic I test fitted them a while back before I got my coils just to see how they would look, no rubbing when I turned the wheel all the way.

Wow...275/35/19 on a rear ZCP wheel ET25 fits up front with no rubbing?
I always thought the limitation was in the overall diameter...its not suppose to be over 26" up front.

How does a square set-up affect the DSC since there is now no rolling variance between front and rear...

275/35R19 will rub on the front for sure on a 19x10 ET20...Trust me, I already did it!

Only rubs on full lock though. I have 19x10 ET20 Square BBS CH's and I'm in the same dilemma as you. I'm most likely going to do the 265/30R19 Michelin Pilot Sport Cups.

I was considering a 275/30R19 and 265/35R19...Anyone have experience with those sizes on a front wheel?

You won't mess anything up by driving with those up front...it'll just rub on the fender liner at full lock, no damage.

So it is a overall diameter issue...

It's a mix, diameter plays a larger role in the reasoning for it rubbing for sure.

hmmmmmmmmmm

only thing about the 265/30/19 is the overall diameter is significantly shorter, and the gap will get bigger.. and I don't have coils to fill it in

I just installed 275/30/19 AD08 on 19 x 9.5 et 22 front wheels. I think there is some slight rubbing on big dips. It's only been a couple of days so I am still diagnosing where the rubbing is occurring. No rubbing on full lock. AD08's are known to run wide so that is a contributing factor. After seeing my set-up I can not imagine fitting a 19 x 10 up front with a 20mm offset. My wheels are already pushed to the limits of the outer edge of the fender.

Here are pics of the car for reference:

Anything that has an OD much bigger than stock fronts is going to rub that inside frame rail at full lock. if you had the 265/30/19 you should be all good
