Anybody using an auxiliary security system?

If yes, what kind? I was stunned to hear that an user from other forum had his M3 stolen in 15 min. He caught the thieves on tape. They opened the hood and done someting, it seems they replaced both the ECU and EWS and then simply start the car with another key. Fortunatelly car was found before being parted.
I also had my previous E46 M3 vandalized, lock pulled out from the door handle, steering wheel and navigation stolen. Alarm did not sound because this is how system works, if opened mechanically, alarm does not sound.
I find innacceptable the degree of security provided by BMW for vehicles in this price range.
