The sunroof makes the interior feel more open and bright. It is superior to slick top and equal to CF.
Brushed aluminum trim is better than carbon leather. The interior needs the contrast and it matches all of the other silver accents.
ACM mod with test pipes sounds fantastic. The rasp is the best part.
The OEM exhaust tips look good.
TE37s are hideous on almost all cars, but especially on the e9x.
BBS and HRE wheels look worse than OEM ZCP wheels on the e9x.
Gunmetal wheels always look better than black wheels.
The seatbelt extender thing is nice to have and works almost every time.
Rebuilt throttle actuators are a waste of time and money.
E90s have ugly taillights. The shape is weird.
Dark window tint looks bad. No window tint looks bad.
Best post in the thread. Some of your opinions actually pissed me off haha. Props for nailing the thread topic. Surprisingly, I agree on the oem exhaust tips though...Probably because I have the hideous Corsa tips.

Fat chicks are superior to fit or skinny. Warmth in winter, shade in summer.

Based on my observations from visiting Colorado, you live in the wrong state. Come to Wisconsin if that's what you're into...

I just finished the OEM Exhaust mod yesterday.
I know all it is just a modified stock exhaust as I did it.
I really like the option to add more sound to the car with a very small investment.
I opened mine up then took it to a stainless steel ship builder to close it up with stainless welds.
The car sounds a lot better now and I don't see any reason to change anything exhaust wise now.
I didn't see any mice in there but there was a rats nest...

I know the E9x "mod" is a bit more intricate than just a simple cut & weld, but in principle, this is really no different than a resonator delete or muffler delete.

I get it, not everyone wants to spend thousands on just an exhaust, and I respect that choice.
But don't make it sound like it's something more than that.
If I could have a penny for every time a noob asks "what's the best exhaust" and the reply is "OEM Exhaust Mod!"

They can't jump very high and are more difficult to kidnap.

I'm glad you disagree with at least one of my unpopular opinions, otherwise they wouldn't be unpopular.

I have swapped ugly taillights before - I used to own a 2002 WRX sedan which came with truly awful looking taillights. Pre-LCI lights don't offend me. With that said, I may pop in some $300 Depo LCI tails at some point, but more so out of boredom than necessity. It's a very mild cosmetic improvement IMO.

Noooooooo don't get DEPO taillights! I've had such bad experiences with them!

You're right, I probably won't just because who cares lol

Just about every review on them I've seen is positive though, what issues did you have?

I've had them in two cars because the OEM lights were deemed 'too expensive'

Besides not looking *anything* like the OEM lights up close, both sets failed after a few years.

I've learned my lesson... OEM LCI lights or I'll just keep OEM pre-LCI lights

Interesting...from the pics and reviews I've seen they look damn near perfect. I'll take your word for it though, especially since I've never had a strong desire to swap taillights in the first place.

I also saw pics and thought they were gold... turned out to be fool's gold. It was so frustrating to have to replace them with OEM lights after going through a set of DEPOs :'(
