Anyone care to explain?
Took my car in for service today. Got new pads, brake fluid, engine oil and and my software upgraded. I dropped off my car with 13,638 miles on it( I've had it for almost 2 years. Yes, she's been babied) so when I picked it up I checked the milage again and I had 13,637 miles.
Can anyone tell me if this is normal when the software is upgraded or flashed in general?

Maybe they took your car for a few joy rides, tried to cover their tracks by winding back the odo but miscalculated?

Unfortunately no, but the work order has all of the information on it including milage which also says 13,638

I do that in front of every one in the service area before I drop it. I also make sure the flash is on so everybody notice what I do. I'm not sure if it helps or hurts but we ran out of ideas here.

hate to state the obvious, but they misstated the mileage at check in.

Well, can you blame OP for suspecting a foul play? The dealers and their service departments got us all so delusional with their utter abuse of our properties. You only need to read one or 2 bad experiences (the M5 crash in Dallas and 35 extra miles on the odometer) and many others, I wouldn't put it past them to roll back an odometer if they could. Of course not all if them are dishonest, there may be only few if them who are (I hope) but those few bad oranges are enough to make us avoid all the oranges.

Sometimes depending on comfort access at check in the key data is wrong and they might of over looked it I wouldn't sweet it, at least u know they didn't drive it key reads are usually with in a few miles high or low because the key needs to be cycled to get the right info and what happens with comfort access is ur key isn't always getting cycle properly hope this helps
