Winter Setup Pics: Beyern Mesh + PA2s

I didn't like the looks of the tirerack winter package, so I put my own together. I must say I had no idea how they'd look. They turned out fine considering the wheels are only $200 each. No need to spend more for winter wheels. I put them on today as I was kind of getting freaked driving around on PSCs. It was below freezing last night...

Wheels are Beyern Mesh Silver
18x8.5; ET30; 24lbs
18x9.5; ET30; 26lbs

Tires are PA2s:
235/40/18
255/40/18; 25.75lbs





This is the back seat/stuff delete option.

Changed to Michelin PA this week also, last week it was almost 20° C here, now it's at 3-5°C.

I am hating my winter wheels on the M right now. I went with 18X8.5 all around and the rears are in so much, its just asking for spacers.

I used to have Blizzack WS-50's on my 330i, but even with them the car was a nightmare in the snow. Good luck to those who dare to venture out in bad conditions!

I'm shocked to see how much of a difference a winter setup changes the look of the M3. If you're going for aesthetics, this is not the setup. The wheels are just too small for the M3, making it look tame. All in all, winter driving sucks. I wish I had the all season beautiful driving weather our brethren in Cali enjoy.

winter driving the m?

I drove in the midst of the heaviest snow storm in my 325 last year with snow tires and made it home. Many front wheel drive cars got stuck in that storm. The M3 should actually do rather well with LSD--something the 325 and 99.9% of the cars do not have--as long as you have snow tires. But the real point of snow tires is more about driving in low temps and hitting patches of ice when it's not snowing (performance tires lose their grip in the cold whereas snow tires don't). The point of the cheaper/smaller wheels is that you don't want to ruin your nice expensive 19" wheels in the hole infested winter roads--they will be ruined in Boston. It sounds like some folks have not lived in areas with tough winters, so they can't relate to these two points. These wheels are a good alternative to the tirerack setup, and that's why I'm posting the pics. This is not a beauty contest. I'm not going to park my M for 4-6 months just because it is winter. Life's too short for that kind of measure IMO...

Very nice...good contrast and choice. You must let us know how your set up works out for you 1st snow fall or freezing temperatures that you venture out into in your M3! I am thinking of a similar setup but using my OEM 18" wheels when I get back in the states in Jan. Thanks for sharing.
