my 1st skid school!

signed up for a skid pad school at lime rock on 4/20. im hoping i get out before then, its been sooo long, but i am looking forward to this. a nice change from the track experience, and a possibility to get a feel for drifting, i hope.

ive im brave, ill return to LRP the next day, or wait till the following weekend for other events. time to plan!

anyone here done skid schools? comments?

Is this like a driver safety school? I'd think going to the track is more rewarding.

What I've heard from professional drivers is that skid school is the best way to learn to handle a car at the limit. Basically, the skid car you learn in runs on a set of casters with the regular tires barely touching the ground. You have to use the steering and the power to control it with almost no grip at all. If you can drive a skid car, you can drive anything. I'd do it in a heartbeat if it was offered here.

We are using out own cars, but without traction control and with a wet course. Same concept it sounds like. Car control is my takeaway, especially for entering into messy situations. Not something you go out of your way to practice on a track.
