ANyway we can find out what version we have without going to dealer or using Autologic?
I found this by plugging in my laptop and using the coding software.....wonder if this means the car is on version 200? |

The dealer will always give you the latest version which *should* be as good or better than 231E. Regardless, as long as the car feels good/better to you, that's all that matters.

I just called my SA back in Michigan, he said my integration level was:
E89x-07-12-515. Any clue to what version this is? He said without a key there with him that was the best he can get me. |

I *think* this may mean that your software was released July of 2007.

That's worth it IMO. Your software is even older than mine was and I would have paid $250 for the new software. Thanks to EAS I didn't but you get my point...

I'll just add that after about a week of driving the car definitely feels better. A world of difference in smoothness and everyday driving. Peppier as well but overall a great $200 upgrade. Car needed it.

i recently went to the dealer because my nav screen had some minor hairline cracks in it, they said they did uploaded the latest software when installing the new nav.
Printout Says: integration level (plant) - e89x-09-06-510 integration level (old) e89x-11-03-511 integration level (new) e89x-12-07-504 ISTA/P Version 47.2.001 What do these values mean? |

You have 231E or later. Anything past ISTA/P 46.3 should be atleast 231E. Keep in mind that a lot of what you guys might be feeling is due to the flashing process. If I took the exact same version you had before and flashed it back in, it would most likely feel better even if it's the older software. That's not to say that there aren't benefits in getting the latest and greatest. I'm going to be talking a look at the versions past 231E in the next couple days and see what has been changed.

This is a reasonable price to update the whole car, especially if you have iDrive. Remember the dealer can't selectively update only the DME, they have to update every module in the car that has a newer version available. On a car with software from 2008 this could take up to 6 hours. The 231E update takes me about 5 minutes

Since there is a newer version later than 231E, will Evolve and ESS be offering updates to their customers based on the new ISTA/P 47.2.001 or 243E version as they did with 231E?
I know ESS has mentioned in the past that they wanted to account for and include the modifications, bug fixes and improvements BMW makes to its core file by ensuring their tune files update the DME to and are based off of the latest version of BMW software. |

I'll include 231E vs newer versions, and then tuned latest versions on top of that.

What I got from this thread is that the 08 builds all have the older software so they will see the most gains when getting the recent update. But my question is after you get the update how should you drive your car? Should we slowly let it adapt or can we drive it hard from the get-go? What's the best and safest way?
