agency power mid pipes?
Does it matter what brand mid pipes you get? these agency power ones seem to look nice, but can't find much info on them:
http://www.redline360.com/agency-pow...2-AP-E92M3-171 also, do these all pretty much dyno the same? Has one brand mid pipe made more power than comparable ones? I recently bought a Megan Racing exhaust which i think I'm going to sell... think it's going to be too loud with no cats.

I don't believe there is any harm in using these pipes. It doesn't take a genius to make the stock x pipe without cats. As long as the material is good, which it looks stainless, then it seems like a good price.
I bet these make just as much power as most other catless x pipes. |

Most of the exhausts you find these days are made in China. Not all are bad. China is capable of making top quality products. Unfortunately, often it is the businesses in the US contracting for cheap crap to sell to their customers.

Yes, most put it where the factory does, at the factory support brace. A few move it forward. There is some debate as to which location is best. The radius of the angle or curve in and out of the x is also an issue, as is whether the pipes in the center of the x merely kiss or whether they totally merge through one another.

My x pipe is also stainless, but coated in VHT flameproof so it's now black. There's nothing to really see but if you want close up pics, I'm more than happy to send you some (if serious). |

FYI here's a pic of the gintani piece also showing how the back is slightly splayed. It's not uncommon.

I'd go with an actual X-Pipe.
I've liked the idea of the Macht Schnell one, but if I were to do ALL of this X-Pipe nonsense again. I'd do it this way: Mastermind X-Pipe (I'll get into why in a minute) http://europeanautosource.com/master...mw-e9x-m3.html It has a late X-Pipe section and the connecting pipes connect to the X section close to their 45 degree bend. This leaves room for 2 more resonators to be installed in front of the X Section. If you don't like the Mastermind with two resonators, buy two Vibrant 1792's and have an exhaust shop weld them in for you in front of the X and it will kill any rasp/drone. I'm actually debating with replacing the rear/original resonators with another set of 1792's or 17930's, but my exhaust is almost where I want it to be as is. The reason why I don't like the Macht Schnell is just where the pipes from the exhaust manifold connect to the X section. There's not a lot of room to throw in additional resonators if necessary. That's it. |

+1. I really like the mastermind, but it's such a forced merge, and if I remember correctly someone here I believed dyno'd it and it really didn't make power. It looks very nice. Also Vibrant makes nice resonators, but I prefer the Aero Turbines and at first had 2 then added 2 more. These cars have alot of rasp once cats are removed and dependent upon rear section used. |

Mastermind put down 22whp over stock without a tune and I noticed an improvement over my old catless setup.
I just liked Vibrant because of the size...and now because of how well it tuned my exhaust. Which is why I'm debating getting rid of the no name Mastermind one from behind the X-section. |
