True. My previous car was an Evo IX MR with just a few basic bolt-on's and a reflash.

Boy, that car always surprised many "over-confident" performance car owners.

I know I'm bringing this thread back from the dead, i didn't want to start a new thread over something already discussed.. but i recently purchased a 2011 e90 M3 and went to top it out.. the first time I could have sworn I hit a little above 170mph i would say 173mph. I was shocked, i didn't think it was going to go that fast (i figured it would have been limited) and i thought I had mistaken.. so i needed to try again. On my second run i paid better attention, but the needle wouldn't pass 170mph, but for a good 25 seconds i was on 170mph.. the car still had plenty more to push but I think it may have been electronically limited at that speed.. Does anybody have experience with this?

And yes I am talking about the needle, not with GPS so I know the speed could be inaccurate.

My car has not hit the high speed limiter yet. Haven't had a safe oportunity to go faster than an indicated 172. Yes, I know there not supposed to go that fast. Not saying I went that fast. But it will go a bunch more than 155.

i did 130 in my heavily modded LS3 camaro ( 550 +HP) and did 140 in my m3. the m3 felt great at high speeds, where i was scared for my life in the camaro. its sold now.
