To hell with winter

So after having a week of mornings in the thirties my local shell decided that it was time to change to winter blend. Now I was expecting that to happen but this is just uncalled for. They went from 93 octane 0% ethanol to 92 octane 10%. The nearest next top tier gas station is 30 miles away... The worst part is I'm to OCD to put that in my bmw or Benz so I have to make a small trip every time I need gas. sorry I just needed to rant a little.

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know your average female in California looks like a lopsided whale. I'm pretty sure you never have to mount snow tires over there also. 93 octane e0 was the only good thing Illinois had and I just lost it like that.

92 E10 is the highest we have in Hawaii. No straight 93 or e85. Can't wait to get back to Germany for the Shell 100(97OCT).

No but seriously (naw not really) don't be a pussy. 92/10 isn't really any different and it's standard to most of the country. I hate winter because I lose traction. boooo!!

That was good!

OP, my Shell station 2 blocks from my house CLOSED! No Shell stations nearby.
I'll take 92 / 10 right now....

Has 93 octane been tested to show improved fuel economy / performance?

You're completely lost.

I believe it snows at Big Bear California just as much as any part of Illinois. Lassen Peak, Mt, Shasta, yada yada yada. Do you even know what chains are? Have you been on highways with 6-7 inches of thick clear ice? I don't think in the past 100 years in Illinois it has ever got that bad. lol

Illinois doesn't get bad Winters at all. Get real. That place is a joke. Just deal with it. That gas is fine and acceptable and a non-issue to millions of Americans. Thats a fact.

Until you have lived extensively in Barrow Alaska, Kotzebue Alaska, or any part of northern Maine AND used the shitty gas there then come talk to us.

Thanks.

Hope you're not serious, but I'll educate your 16 year old brain anyways.

Have you heard of Lake Tahoe, pretty sure it's 1000x better skiing than anywhere in Illinois. And good luck getting to Tahoe in your M3.

Also, please tell me a place in your cornfields where you have snow in September?
Okay my turn, here's CAs Shasta in September. BTW that white stuff on there isn't coke.

And you're telling me that your car is hurting bc you now run 92 with ethanol? I get it Mr. Mike Schumacher, I bet you can also tell a difference when you run BP gas vs Shell or 39 psi rear tires on your rocketship racecar?

New BMW Performance Home Gas Pump

You're in luck - look what BMW just came out with. It's the new BMW Performance Home Gas Pump! Now you get to choose what you put into your BMW and you can do away with the 2 to 3 trips a week to gas station, saving even more gas!

You can source from two different storage tanks so you can manage one octane for daily driving while having quick access to the special stuff for track days.

Options include carbon fiber trim as well as an option to choose a BMW specific color for the main pump body!

Starts at 12,750USD without installation.

It means the average, deep dish pizza loving, women of Illinois look like lopsided whales. And he would rather have CA women and crappy gas, than the other way around.

Actually my car has had issues while idle with BP gas. I know California gets snow In some parts of the state, but it really doesn't effect you unless you decide to drive there. My rant is that there is no car culture in my area, (but god damn we had 93 oct e0, everything is against driving in general where I'm from. Roads are shit (yes worse then la), artificially low speed limits (65mph in roads you can see straight for miles on), the nearest track is three hours away unless I want to go on a drag strip. 1 octane doesn't make a noticeable difference but going from e0 to e10 makes a huge difference in performance especially in my twin turbo Mercedes. I really can't believe you guys are trying to claim central Illinois is better in California in any way (yes I'm including NorCal in that). Hawaii I can understand due to cost of living and shit driving infrastructure, but it's still Hawaii... Also try driving in Eastern Europe in winter, no salt or sand, no guard rails, 500 meter drops. Apparently I've never been through a real winter but what can I do...

Where do I order? In all seriousness I can get a 40 gallon drum of vp race fuel for nearly cost from a friend, but I think that's overkill for winter.
