Who will be the lucky guy to receive one of the first M-DCT cars in the US ?

Just wondering.

We need some personal reviews.

You ordered M-DCK? Where was that option listed?

Is that the M-D!CK option? Does it come with yellow sunglasses and no friends?

Wow, you are particularly feisty today. The guy who posted is likely speaking English as a second language (or third...).

Not sure about the second language bit.

The spelling of M-DCK was actually in his sig.

He's from Portugal. If you're going to check the sig, you may as well check the author, too. Someone bitter they didn't order M-DCT?

Yes, that's exactly it. You know me better than anyone.

Where he is from has nothing to do with misspelling an acronym. It was a joke. Notice the "D!CK" comment?

M-Maika - Your english fine. Its actually better than others who's first language is English. Secondly you have'nt started here in the forum on the wrong foot. Its just that some people find it amusing to make fun of a simple spelling mistake.

I think skierman64's DCT car is on the ship and should arrive at the port on March 29.

Do we know for sure yet (sorry if this is common knowledge) that the M-DCT cars will be delivered to the dealerships promptly upon arrival to the states? Or are they holding them off for some more formal M-DCT release date, whereby perhaps demos are available or at least press cars are available?

Because if they hold off, likely a bunch of people are going to get them at basically the exact same time.

I don't think any info has been released yet as far as the DCT release date. I've read that the M3 vert is supposed to be the first DCT model released, but with so many DCT coupes on the ships headed for the U.S., I don't see how that will be possible.

There are several M-DCT cars that will hit the US shores on 3/29 (NJ and SC). Spoke to my SA yesterday, and we are planning for delivery the first week of April. There's no hold on my car.

Yeah, as far as the vert goes, I think that prevailing wisdom is that what was meant by those statements is that the vert would be the first car to be shown publically with M-DCT, and would be the press poster child for M-DCT's formal debut. But now that that's out of the way, I think that actual M-DCT deliveries can freely happen first for the coupe (sedan is known to be delayed for a bit longer - probably around the vert launch), and that the actual release (as opposed to debut) of M-DCT will center around the M-DCT equipped coupe. That is, if a formal "release" will even exist.

If I turn out to be the first guy to get a DCT car, I plan on giving a full writeup on it, that is if I can drag myself away from the car. I also plan on video taping from inside my car so folks can get a decent impression of how it shifts. I will give some verbal commentary as I video.

My car is due to arrive the port on 29 March. So if I'm not the first guy to take delivery, I will be very close to the first guy.

If BMW delays my delivery for an artificial release date, I won't be pleased.

Actually SMSgt B will be the first forum member to drive the DCT. He has a US spec car in Germany, and he takes delivery on 29 March. I'm anxious to read his review.
