I don't really like Vung Tau much. Went there and their secondary location, Vung Tau 2, which is ironically enough across the street from QCup in Milpitas. It is a bit expensive as my parents and I usually spend close to $50 there. Food is expensive, but not really all that good. I usually end up getting Bun Bo Hue because I don't like to eat the Bun Cha my parents usually get.

We do go for Vietnamese food! That is what Pho Kim Long is for. When I am really hungry and want a lot to eat for a reasonable price!

True, Vung Tau 2 is horrible and expensive ....I live like mins from that place and I dont even eat there.

Is Vung Tau 1 any better? They seem to be more about Vietnamese dishes than pho-like.

I believe Vung Tau 1 is better. Yes, they serve a lot more traditional dishes rather than individual items like pho or com tam only.

That's why it is better to eat in a group bcuz we can order many Vietnamese dishes for the whole table and eat them with steam rice rather than everyone has their own dish.
