Engines revs in neutral

Wondering if anybody has experienced your engine reving up and down while in neutral at a light. My 6mt did it the other day for the first time but has not done it since.

It could be a fuel pump issue. The N54's HPFP does this when the pump is going bad. I'm not sure about the S65's pump though. Although I heard some earlier 2008 models may have had faulty pumps. Hopefully someone that knows about this chimes in.

Indeed. How many miles? I've seen most fail between 16 and 20K miles, but a few a lot earlier than that.

Mine failed at 3K, lol. What year is your car and how many miles on it? If it's a 2007(EU) or 2008 with 15k+ miles on it, it's probably about time for the idle control valve to go bye bye like most people here have said.

I have 25k miles on my car and haven't had a problem with the idle control valve yet

Looking forward to it

revs vary by like two hundred'ish rpm when steady idling dependent on clutch-in or clutch-out.
try it.

i think car needs to be fully warmed up and like at a stop light you will notice it.

car is an 08 with 21000 miles. Took it in to dealer and they ran diagnostics and found nothing wrong.
