Just Drove the new Stingray

A friend just took delivery of a 2014 Stingray and I was able to take it for a spin. I was surprised at how comfortable it was and the ride quality was great. It would definintly be good for longer trips although the visibility was still lacking and it had lots of blind spots. Fit and finish seemed top quality and it made my frozen black e93 m3 look like a boring car parked next to it.

While driving it the attention from everyone was just stupid and would drive me crazy, when sitting at one light I noticed a couple guys in a X5 glaring at me in a way that looked like contempt, not sure what that was about?

Great car, just not for me.

Here are some pics.[ATTACH][ATTACH][ATTACH]Name: Capture2.PNG

My uncle has been talking about trading in his Avalanche for the Stingray. Also trying to get him into white. He wants black. I might actually go take one of these things for a spin, maybe I'll end up going home with a white one lol

Its brand new. I've already seen so many I'm over it. Vertex flood market so the attention will not be a problem in a year. Why isn't it a car for you? I think its a god damn home run. Vetted have been amazing other than seats and interior but now that's fixed. Its heck of a car. I'm getting one for the track in a year and use M3 for daiky

Home run for Chevy for sure looks stunning in the flesh. Though essential to get larger wheels, as the stock sizes look wack. One zoomed past me on the freeway the other day, and I tried to gun it when he was in my rear view but was in the wrong gear and before I knew it he took the next exit. Damn MT!

Honestly bro, your black M3 looks better than the Vette.
I am kind of surprised, maybe if his was black would look better..it's kinda over the top ...almost cheesy looking.

while I would never get one in Auto... FYI GM makes some amazing auto trannies. So good that they used to use one in a bigger BMW back in the day....

Seriously, maybe if his was black would look better...but it looks pretty comic book and down right cheezy next to your blacked out monster!!
Hey Thanks, you just summed it up with the "comic book" analogy.
coloradoe92m3 asked why it wasn't a car for me and that's part of it.

But it was still an impressive car, especially for a GM.

I agree GM totally fucked up the styling for the C7. The C6 was so much better looking. But form follows function, and that C7 is a performance beast for a bargain price. With performance very close to the c6 Z06, not only will it dust an E90 M3, it'll probably do the same to the F80 as well.

I don't have a high school diploma or college degree and own a m3... am I doing it wrong? (No mom and dad didn't buy it)

As for the original post I have a deep hatred for vettes. Although I will say the performance and price of this one is phenomenal. But they made it butt ass ugly compared to every other vette before it. I know a guy who ordered a white on red one that I'll be able to drive at some point maybe I will be blown away....

I think the rear of the new C7 looks goofy but the front actually looks almost exotic. It isn't really a car for me but I'd definitely be interested in driving one - and can respect the performance machine that it is. I'd certainly give thumbs up to anyone driving one.

Sterling performance, but not for me. Besides, when you see a Vette, you expect some paunchy, balding, middle-aged, mid life crisis CPA to come rolling out.

I've had a couple of Corvettes...but when I was younger. I can remember dating a girl who was a horse trainer for Paramount Studios (she is still a succubus that haunts my dreams). On our first date, she was surprised to see that I was driving a Vette. She said that she thought only old guys who could no longer get it up drove Corvettes. She said that every time she saw a guy in a Corvette she wanted to call out, "I'm sorry about your penis!"

In a year or so you'll see these everywhere you look, especially at the econimics this thing is rolling out at. I rarely see another M3 here in Houston and I like that exclusivity.

That's one of the things I miss about living up there, you got to see cars on the road prior to them coming out.
