I'm a noob here, and almost made the mistake of posting the same question..whew, glad i didn't.
After some searching, it appears the manual needs a "DSSR" shifter rod to improve it's feel. I'm in the kicking tire mode, trying to find a good deal on an M3. I think my decision will be based more on what kind of deal I get, and whatever transmission it has will be fine. I've driven a 335is with the DCT last year. What I like about it is that it keeps the engine right in it's powerband, banging off shifts at lightening speed. I'd think it would be slightly faster in a roll race, but a good manual driver could probably even it up. I've never owned an automatic in a sports car, but this DCT isn't a slushbox. |

I wasn't trying to see whether the dct or 6mt is better than each other, i just wanted to see how many people prefer the dct or 6mt. I have a dct and i love it. I just wanted to see the thoughts of other people.

And now I'll add my own redundant and useless question: "335 vs M3? Which would you buy because I am looking at a RS5 but can't decide which color however that C63 sure is high on torque which begs the question why would anybody choose manual over DCT since it is much more practical and fun but then again I am not sure if I can afford an M3 because I am still living with my parents but the 1M is out of question since it is not a real M-car so in the end I'll just save up for the GT-R which is way more awesome...." I think I nailed everything in one shot. Feel free to add any other beat-to-death questions. Last edited by WRXXX; 06-06-2013 at 06:47 PM.. |

Do you want a true manual transmission or automatic transmission. Simple and not rocket science. There is no debate which is better either you want to just push the gas and brake or do you want gas, brake, and clutch while shifting through gears?

FLAME SUIT ON! Lol jk but research is key... but i will tell you that i had 2 6mt, and now i have a DCT and i wont touch manual. I do miss rowing my own gears from time to time, but since im a gym junkie i love that dct.
