ad08's
love these tires. had these installed a few weeks ago on my p40's and love the setup (big thanks to ilia at ind for the call). seem so much tighter, and the grip is awesome. the final test for me was the track, just got back from there yesterday and wow, loved them. dont have much of a sample set to draw from, but would definitely recommend them, great tires

+1, best tires I've had. Much better than the PS2's, and for some reason my rears are wearing better than my previous INVO's.

I need to change tyres and was considering the AD08s and the RE11s. Actually I couldn't decide which ones to go for until I found out that the RE11s are not imported in Europe for some strange reason.... Are there sizes in AD08 fitting the stock 19" nicely? I dont mind going one size larger front and rear if so needed - hopefully this wont cause any issues? |

going out for a drive now. will double check but im running hre p40 19's on a pretty big setup, think 265 and 295? think theyre great for every day driving and confidence instilling on the track, couldnt ask for much more, maybe a tad more vibration than the stock 18's, but think thats to be expected.

Keith it was great working with you on the car .
The wheels are sized at 19x9 +22 and 19x10.5 +22 with a 265/295 staggered AD08 tire setup.

I have been looking at BBS LM's for my M3 but when I saw how much heavier they were than some of the Advans and Volks I started looking at the RZ-DF and the Volk VR G10. As I picked the specs for the wheels I started looking at tires and was suprised at the weight differences of tires.
I was set on the Advan Ad08's but looking at the specs, they seem heavy. The Ad08 295 30 19 was 30.5 lbs while Continential 305 30 19 was 26.9 lbs, stock 265 35 19 was 23.7 lbs., and ps2 305 30 19 28 lbs. With ad08's 275/295 and BBS Lm's you would pick up about 6lbs per wheel over stock 19's but with Volk rz-df and ad08's you would save 1lb front and 2lb rear over stock 19's and with Volk rz-df and continential 275/305 you would save 3.4lbs front and 5.5lbs rear. Are these weights noticable? |

They are heavier than PS2 but also comparable to a lot of other makes in the same size. Also, I think the AD08s run a little wide.
I had 265/35/18 and 295/30/18 installed recently for track usage. I didn't have a lot of miles on them for the first track day so I'd like to get some more miles and track them again before I talk about their handling characteristics. One thing is for sure, they have much sharper turn-in than PS2s. With that sort of width in the front, they also tramline and pull the steering wheel around a bit following ruts. Not terrible, but it wouldn't be my choice (in size) for an everyday tire. |

After about 3-4k miles, mine seem to be wearing faster than my PS2s but only moderately so. Definitely softer with all of the benefits (and downsides...) I put them on significantly lighter wheels than the OEM 19s I had the PS2s mounted on so can't say I noticed an increase in weight.
Love the grip these offer, just wish they had more sizes.

You may want to look at the Bridgestone RE11, which is similar in performance and comes in stock sizes for a 19" wheel. |

by the way, what sort of track pressures are people using for ad08s?
I started with warm tires (after driving to the track) at 35/37, found them at 41/43 after a session and correspondingly greasy. I reduced them to about 38/40 hot, but still found them greasy, even though turn-in remained excellent. I don't think I've quite found the sweet spot for these on the track. |

I found 36/34 hot on my e46 track car to be best for the AD008s. haven't tried them on the e92 though.
