Your choice -- 335xi coupe v sedan in silver

OK -- have to make a choice tomorrow between the 335xi coupe or sedan in silver. Sedan clearly has it in terms of comfort/utility, and I have 2 other family members who will be in the car on weekends (usually only 1 of them, but sometimes both). Coupe is simply better looking. Questions:

1. Do owners of the sedan over time think the coupe truly is better looking? Do you wish you bought the coupe?

2. Do the 2 cars drive any differently?

3. What would you choose given all of the above?

Thanks,

PSR

If I had to regularly carry more than 1 person, I would probably get the sedan even though the coupe has decent space in the rear.

Have you looked at used E60 5 series?

Go for the coupe. Much better looking and it doesn't seem like you will have to put people in the backseat too often.

I don't think the coupe gives much up in terms of practicality, except for maybe ingress/egress into the rear, and it gains a lot in the looks department.

Having said that, a tastefully modified e90 can look as good if not better than a modded e92 imo.

I think the coupe and the sedan look like two totally different cars. The coupe looks a million times better.

Get the coupe.

I had an E46 325Ci before my E90 325i (I know, different body styles, but my point will still apply) and I'm seriously thinking of selling my E90 and getting an E92. After having driven the old coupe and current sedan for about 3 years each now, I really appreciate the general styling of a coupe over a sedan. And as for carrying additional passengers, the people who complained about getting into the back of my coupe still complain when getting into the back of my sedan -- it's not the getting in / getting out that bothers them, it's the lack of leg room in the back.

Even driving seems different -- I think the ride in my coupe was much more sporty, even considering that it was an E46 and so had less power than my current car.

In your situation, I would get the coupe. It sounds like you won't be using the back too much regardless, and since you'll be driving it more, you should get what makes you happiest.

That's an interesting take on this and I'll buy the argument. People did complain being stuffed into the back of my friends' A4 and Lexus IS.. it was the lack of legroom and in the IS' case... lack of space in the middle. It may as well have 2 doors...
