2012 M3 vs. 2012 640i

So both of these cars look really amazing and cost about the same in terms of getting the same options..... Opinions on one vs the other?

I personally don't like the 6 turbo in the 6 series. Not for any real reason in particular. I just think this car should only have the v8 turbo motor.

It depends on what you want...but the 640i seems overpriced if at the same price with the M3.

Try to get at least the 650i if you're really keen on the 6er.

If you don't immediately know whether you want a 6 series or an M3 then you probably don't want an M3.

Actually my gut tells me immediately that I want a M3 but there's always my mind that says.... "Hey! The 6 costs the same! Are you sure the M3 was the right choice?" so I thought I'd come here and see what some other opinions were.

The 650 is almost 30k more than the m3. Not even in the same ballpark so really not an option. A 640 would be way too underpowered. Car weighs 4200 pounds and has 320 hp. The 335 has the same rough hp and weighs 600 pounds less and its still slower than the m3 stock for stock. The m3 is oodles faster than that. 650 would be pretty close in performance from acceleration stand point to the m3, if not faster in a straight line but as mentioned its in a different prize zone

I say M3. I personally am not a fan of the new 6 series at all. Completely different cars too because the 6 is a boat while the M is more track oriented.
