Question new Brembo installed...clicking sound during bed-in

Install of Brembo's are done, but I had a slight issue in parts for the pads, so I ended up doing this:

Hawk HPS pads on front calipers
Brembo kit pads on read calipers

as I'm bed-ing the brakes/pads, I'm hearing a clicking sound that is obviously coming from the front brakes, and slows down as the car is slowing down. It sounds like the pad "clicking" as the slots in the rotors are passing it.

The sound doesn't come from the back at all.

Has anyone experienced or heard of this before?

Do a search for "pad shift". The OE brembos allow the pads to move forward and backward in the calipers and contact their abutment plates causing the clicking or knocking sound you are hearing.

could it be the shims somehow? perhaps the Brembo Shims need to be mounted to the hawk HPS pads?

Sounds like an installation error. There is pad shifting but it should only make noise every now and then. Not all the time.

I'd be pulling the wheels to check things followed by pulling the calipers if there was nothing immediate to be seen.

Are you sure it's the front? It could be the Mclaren bolts on the rear rotor hats.

At this point you probably called Brembo tech support or took the car back to the installer. Any resolution?

Floating pins are more of a 'pinging' noise than a clicking. These are the pins that connect your floating rotors together. When they get really hot (like during a bed in proccess) the heat causes the rotor to expand, and as they begin to shift or cool down they make a 'pinging' sound.

Is this noise happening all the time now, or was it just when the brakes were hot during the bed in process?

I called brembo, IND, etc, and dunno what the issue was to be honest.

Brembo pads that came with the kit were put back in the fronts and it works great now... I dont know if it was a bad pad from Hawk, or something was not tightened properly and once brembo pads were put, it went away

I dont have time today, but tomorrow I'm putting the Hawk pads back on to see if it is a pad issue, or an install problem originally.
