The HRE P40 is definitely lighter.

I think the ADV is actually more compelling visually--now seeing it side by side the P40. The rim just looks cleaner--perhaps the cleanest mesh design I've seen. I think this may be part of why it looks impressive in really dark finishes.

I'm not a fan of ADV1. The owner tried to scam my brother.

not a fan of ADV either but ADV 7 really looks good for sure.
Tough call between ADV 7 and HRE P40.
But I would go with P40 if it's me.

Sticky Thread That Has Many Wheel Weights

There's a sticky thread in this forum that has many aftermarket wheel weights primarily provided by WSTO (Thanks guys): http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=265756
19x9 P40's are 23.2 lbs and 19x10.5 P40's are 25 lbs. I haven't seen the ADV1 weights.

From my view the HRE's are a better bet: HRE is an established company, their wheels meet SAE, JWL, and TUV standards (per the HRE website), HRE wheels have established used market values and demand. There are lots of questions with ADV1: how long will the company last, how durable are the wheels (I can't find (on the ADV1 website) what standards, if any, they meet), how are values going to hold up in the used wheel market?

in terms of design the ADV's look better and the should weigh the same considering they are both made from the same material. I am not really a fan of either due to HRE being cookie cutter in terms of design and fitment, ADV.1 being owned and ran by people that historically to take your money and run.

Id keep looking, here in the north east the D2 guys run things, or play it safe and go HRE.

Crappy phone photo. With regards to weight, I didn't find them heavy at all. Infact, when I picked them up I was quite shocked at how light they are! Even compared to 18 inch wheels which I have on my other car.

I'll get better ones today as soon as I get the car back from the body shop.

Great. Did you actually weigh your wheels? If you did, what did they weigh?

It's wheels, if they are that shit you can always change them. A couple thousand dollars isn't the end of the world.

Personally, I am very happy with them. I don't think guys with twin turbo LP640's would risk their lives if they were that bad - especially with all that power.

Sorry, I didn't bother to weigh them. They weren't that much heavier than the OEM 19 inch wheels with tires.

Wheels are a big deal. They need to start out round, stay round, and take a normal level of abuse. Certification that the wheels meet common industry standards confirms that the wheels will do that.

In the case of the ADV1 wheels, based on the retail pricing, the financial risk sounds much more like $5K to $6K per set rather than $2K, or are the discounts huge to move the product?

Somewhat dead thread but I just received one of my wheels (out of the four) from FedEx... (fedex screwed up the shipment >_>). I ordered 19x11 back and 19x9.5 front... I got one of the rear wheels and I weighed it.. its the ADV 7.1 Monobloc in gloss black.. weighed it at 27.5 lbs. Gonna post a review when I get the rest lol
