service warning light

so my service light (car on a lift) went on. my car has 69,000 km. took it to an indy shop that specializes in bmw to get service done. they changed the oil and reset it back so that it reads 16,000kms till next service. the light came on again today. is there any particular service that should be getting done at 69000 other than oil change? or should I just bend over and take it to the dealer?

Warning Light

You are going to need to get the codes that are turning on the Service light. Only then will you know what you need to do next.

You need to get a diagnostic to find out what's setting off the service light?!

I don't think so. Going through iDrive (or cycling through the instrument cluster if you don't have it) should show you what's required. I think the car on a lift is a vehicle check (different from state safety inspection), which if you Google here is just a bunch of basic checks. I doubt the same service is tripping the indicator again assuming they reset the CBS properly.
