Exclamation Group Ride Feb 4, 2012 [SJ to Santa Cruz via Hwy 9]

NEW ROUTE instead of the Mt. Hamilton route!

I would advise against this route for the following reasons:

1. the roads are extremely narrow, more so than a route like Skyline Blvd. When cyclists are on these roads, it makes for an uncomfortable situation.

2. the roads are in poor condition, littered with potholes.

Oooh, okay. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah, I'm down for another suggestion still. SJ/SF area is good for me.

Mount Diablo near Walnut Creek too far for folks? Not as narrow as the Mt. Hamilton road, but it has its share of cyclists too.

+1 for crappy road conditions

Good drive for an STI with stock suspension or a Civic Si, but not an M3...

I'll probably split up after the restaurant/photoshoot since Hwy 1 will put me far away from home (Stockton)

Let's get a list of who's going for this new Santa Cruz route!

1) Racer5M3
2) atruelunatic
3) asifali14

In light of the heavy law enforcement presence on Hwy 9, this Saturday's drive will not be so spirited, but more of a cruise.

Anyone object? Should we keep the existing route?

Any input would be appreciated.

So... guess what... just got back from my weekend trip last night and found out that my wheels and tires got jacked over the weekend... from my own underground gated garage.

Hopefully I'll get a new set of wheels in the next couple of weeks if insurance can cover it. Good news is, my tires were pretty much bald haha...

I'll post some pics later.
