ALL ABOARD the Faust!
My M3 has set sail from Bremerhaven for the states aboard the SE Faust, a Swedish ship operated by W2 She makes stops in Belgium, U.K., the Panama Canal then finally Los Angeles. The tracking website says it will arrive on 12 June 2013. Hopefully customs wont take too long, I am getting super anxious the longer I am separated from her.

That's pretty quick - I am on the Sagittarius Leader which left Bremerhaven on May 9th with an expected arrival date of June 7 in Port Hueneme which is Sagittarius Leader's first stop. The "Leader" series of ships seem to be on the slow side. What was your date of departure?

I don't think the west coast bound ships usually stop on the east coast - I think they usually head straight for Panama. Looks like you let a week after I did and even after a couple of stops in Europe will only arrive 3 days behind me. I wonder how long the ships will wait at the Panama Canal to go through the Locks. There are a bunch of ships waiting to go through when you look at the tracking sites

Awesome
That is very exciting news. I'm headed to Munich to pick up my M3 this thursday. Drop off at Munich is on the 28th so I guess tail end of July to reasonably expect it in Mountain View.

So the ship tracker says the Faust is approaching the Panama Canal, says she will depart on the 6th, guess there is a line...
The L.A. arrival date for the car is the 13th of June. Anyone know how long it takes to clear customs?

She waited only about 24 hrs and then sailed right through the canal. Doesn't your car go to the prep center in Oxnard and then get trucked to your dealer in LA. I think customs takes a couple of days depending on number of cars on the ship. |
