C63 or M3?
I have a dilema here. I think the M3 is definitely the better car in almost every aspect although not by much. My understanding is that the 09 M3 coupes DCT will go at invoice at best. I have offers to get the C63 for a little over 5k under invoice. The M3 will cost 67-69k (msrp 71-73k) while the C63 will cost 57-59k (msrp 66-68k).

+1. I've test driven the DCT from the M3 twice. I've also test driven the auto from the C63 twice. I liked the C63's auto much, much better. At the end, I ended up with a 6 speed manual. You ask why? .........Because I prefered the manual more than any automatic when all things are said and done.

C63's are still pulling $54K used... so if you are all about 'value'... then the C63 'NEW' for $57K if you could really do that is a great deal.
And again... if dollars are your driver... you can also pick up a used M3 for the same $50K or so... fully equipped... unless you only want new. You won't be sorry w/ the M3! I watched 'dozens' of comparisons... and the M3 always dominated... especially in the 'handling arena'... beating the C63 & ISF by over 4 seconds on the road course in Reno. It was a no brainer for me at that point! Dave

If you like to drive straight line really fast, C63 is the way to go.
If you like to take highway exit really fast, M3 is the way to go. If you worry about eating up too much gas, get an M3. The catch of C63 is, price of M3, gas consumption of M5/6.

C63 has a traditional 7 speed slushbox.. and it shifts back and forth like crazy. The transmission on the M3 is way better.
Although.. C63's straight line / low end torque will dominate the M3. So I guess if speed is your only objective get the C63. If you want a more refined vehicle overall, get the M3. |

the c63 is a damn good car, so is the M3. I miss the brawn of an AMG, but I prefer the aesthetics and interior of the M3 and I like rowing my own gears...plus, every third car is a c-series now...and every 4th is a 3-series, so dumb point.
to save a few k, i wouldnt compromise, get what you want...its not like one car is 10+k more than the other. |

first of all, M3 looks way better, handles better, has way better fuel efficiency, coupe.
the thing is, BMW is famous for its 3 series line, not anything else really. M3 is like the core element of BMW's DNA, and if you choose to get C63, I would rather save money and get a C300 sports sedan, or invest a shit load more and get a super Mercedes car. (high end performance car = Benz > BMW) |

Do you want a sideways machine or a balanced, precise, sideways machine? Watch the "Top Gear" ep w/ M3 vs RS4 vs C63 and you'll see why.

It does seem too good to be true... If I was faced with this kind of offer I would choose the C63. $5k under invoice? It would be my first MB after four ///M cars in a row! Plus people who say the C63 is just a straightline car simply don't know what they are talking about. Sure the M3 handles better but not by much. It's like comparing an extremely sharp steak knife with a scalpel. I really wanted a 6MT after owning SMGII(which I loved), but I think I could live with the auto in the MB, I got $500 under invoice and am quite happy with my E90M3.
