What sway bars are you M3 e92s using :)
Hey guys, I've got an e92 335i and want to upgrade sway bars... I wanted to know what you M3 fellas upgrade your sway bars too, might as well jump up to that rather than the traditional upgrade to OEM M3 sway bars
Thank you,

Hollow (RDSport) vs solid
having read up on them, hollow is recommended over solid when other suspension is introduced, such as the KW Springs I also bought. Solid is good when car is left stock.

I'm using the RD Sport front swaybar, currently on the stiffest setting.
It definitely settles the car down in transitions and makes it more responsive to mid-corner throttle adjustments. The downside is a little more steady-state understeer at high speed. I'm sure pairing it with the bigger rear helps balance it out some, this car doesn't need any more rear bar, springs are where you want to get your roll stiffness in the back IMO, unless you need a lot of squat for a super high hp application or something The RD sport front bar with Turner steel adjustable endlinks is about half a pound heavier than the stock hollow bar and stock aluminum endlinks.

E90 here, not E92.
Went with the Dinan Fronts only and was installed at Bullet Performance in Costa Mesa which builds track M cars. Install took 30 minutes. Has improved turn-in and tightened the feel on the steering wheel a tad bit. Not a frequent track racer so can't provide any more technical or overly insightful comments.

Have the Dinan sway, but am about to change to the RDsports and am getting the rear installed with the TMS delrin subframe bushings as they're both a PITA. Just as a side note, the sways are more in anticipation of fully upgrading my suspension, not just a stand alone mod. And yes, another E90

After some looking around, I will probably get RD Sport if and when I decide I need new bars. They're reasonably priced and have actual data on stiffness for each setting, look good to me.

We're still running stock sways on the E90 M3 (shown in sig). We don't recommend changing the rear bar, but going bigger in the front. With just our TCK DA's and Hoosiers, we're turning 1:39's at Laguna, just to give you a point of reference.

Getting sways For just street performance to me a waste of money. I've done it on my previous M's. Now if you're gonna track the car that's a different story. My .02

Have you done any testing with a front swaybar in conjunction with coilovers and proper spring rates?

Is it ok to use h&r front sway without the rear? I have used sway bars before on other vehicles and it does make a difference just not sure if I want to go through all the hassle involved in installing the rear on the M3. Again anyone out there that has the front installed without the rear please chime in.

Once spring rates are sorted out most will find no need to add a bar or is only adding it to balance the car. |
