Stall your DCT?
Anyone ever stall their DCT? Mine stalled today just turning into my driveway. I was in the midst of the turn, and dropping to 1st while braking, and next thing I know, steering effort goes through the roof, and I have no revs. No big deal, transmission automatically went to N, and I hit the starter and got going.
I thought the DCT was too smart for that to happen. Should I be worried? |

If your car is pre nov 2008 you may have exprienced that stalling issue which can be fix with a software update. Talk to your dealer and they will help you if that is the case.
The update you need is at least PROGAM 32.1. this is the one update some people say started lag...... Today you should be able to get ISTA/P 2.34 (Anything higher than 2.33 should work) in which the lag i supposely reduced.

Mine stalled several times, usually when accelerating into an intersection from a stop or near stop. Progman 32.1 solved it. I need to get into the dealer for the latest ISTA/P to see if that helps my lag issues.

Not sure of my build date, but the car is an '09 that I bought 4 days ago. It IS old enough that it has the ashtray and lighter instead of the sunglasses bin.
Where can I check my build date?, and is there a way to check the DCT software version? |

I stalled my 2008 on a hill despite all the available updates at the time. I'm sure in certain conditions, you can stall just about anything.
Reminds me of a great Meet the Parents quote: Greg: "Oh yeah, you can milk anything with nipples." Jack: "I have nipples Greg, can you milk me?" |

I bought my 09 e92 M3 in Nov. It had a production date of August 2009. The software was really old. The dealer never updated the car. They even told me that it was up to date and that they are not aware of any updates. During my 1200mi service, the SA( at a different dealer) checked the software version and made an appointment immediately to have the software updated.

Which dealer did you go. I had a bad experience with Stevens Creek and I feel they may have done the same. |
