and thats all you know. you stated yourself, u made ur opinion the minute u found out theyre minors. i made the same opinion. but i dont feel the passenger was in anyway guilty. if the passenger was like me, he didnt encourage the speeding... in hs, my friends sometimes sped for no reason, and id bitch at them and tell them to slow down. sometimes theyd just say stop being such a pussy. i made it safe, but if i had gotten killed, would u say its my fault? either way, you dont know if the passenger encouraged or discouraged, but regardless of that, its not the passenger's fault. if i sat in ur car, and told u to speed, regardless of what you did, that is your own decision and the blame lies with the driver.

You tell your friend to SLOW DOWN, or DON'T HAVE THAT BEER, or PLEASE LET ME OUT...

No kid thinks about the consequence...just the reward of their friends saying how cool it was to do 120mph on the Long Island expressway in mommy or daddy's Bimmer...

Peer pressure has caused more death and injury than people think. Those teens were doomed when they got the car. Not yesterday than some other day with other people.

Both were 17-year-olds. I'm surprised they mentioned the names in the article. Terrible accident.

I wonder if the driver was a member here.

this was really sad... both those kids actually went to the high school that is two blocks away from my house. I've been talking to a friend of mine everyday to help her considering she was a very good friend of the driver. The kids were both from very good families and were very good kids from what I've been told. Really sad that this happened.. irresponsible to be driving that fast on that road.. especially on a night that was drizzling out.. i drive past the spot on a regular basis for my commute.. and the car must have gotten airborne since its a downhill from where the parkway ends.. and to go from 100+ mph to 0 in no time... is just death.. very sad
