Not too sure about that, manual vs manual and DCT vs DCT , I'm think in most case(if density of air does'nt play against the M3 cause we know that blown M3s are really temperature sensitive), the M3 would win or at least be equal! The best trap I've seen for a stock F10 M5 is 122mph, usually they are more in the 118-120mph range I think, something that a DCT VT1 can easily achieve, even with stock cats! I trapped 119mph with my VT1-535 manual with stock cats(basicly the slowest supercharged M3 there is )!

I think you're still underestimating what 5psi can do on the S65 like the time you told me not to expect more then 115-116mph traps from my VT1!

Yeah I did say that but for some reason I thought you were in Northern California. Found out you were in a location with DA's near zero and temps in the 50's during the late summertime. So I made a botched assumption for sure.

I ran a couple 535 VT1's with my 335 when it was warm outside and DA's were very high. My 335 barely made 400 rwhp but basically ran even with both VT1's. One was a DCT and the other was a 6MT. The most interesting part of the races was that I starting creeping on both once we hit 100+. I have always believed that high temps/DAs affect the VT1 more significantly than the intercooled kits.

Anyway, run the M5 with your car and my guess is that the M5 pulls on you...but I hope you prove me wrong.

Yeah your opinion on the VT1 is understanble, if I remember well, you beated one with your 335 at the first Shift sector event! To be honest, some days my car does'nt feel much faster then stock mostly due to high temps and humidity level but most times it feels like 500+hp!

I know we don't live in the same DAs so I will only speak from my personnal experience. I go a lot to the drag strip and the absolute worst trap I did with my VT1(on a good start without miss shifts) is 114mph, usually I trap between 115-117, on a good day 118-119. Which brings me to show you this(manual F10 M5 trapping 115mph):

Let's hope I'll have the chance to prove you wrong once again before I put my test pipes!

I tested the new VT1-550 setup this past summer in my personal car and it performed great. The VT1's value is high as it allows you to get this car close to 500 whp with a good HFC / catless exhaust or test pipes.

while we're on the subject, I'm gonna put test pipes on my car at the end of winter, I was wondering if it would be an easy upgrade to go from VT1-535 to VT1-550 since I'm gonna need a new catless tune anyway!? Do I only need a pulley on top of the tune to have the new updated version of the VT1?

Nice, great setup. I like the badge...subtle but still makes a statement, especially if anyone knows what ESS is about.

You do not need to retune for catless. Upgrading is easy you just replace the pulley and update the software.

Nice, so that should be an easy 35-40hp more, it should make a good difference!! Can't wait to dyno after those mods, hopping for the 500+WHP on 94octane!! Thanks Roman!
