U94/2's Individual Fire Orange M3 Coupe: A Photo Modification + Euro Delivery Journal

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Well, where do I begin! This whole process has been a wild ride! It all started with a random call one day to Ryan Amico from Steve Thomas BMW to talk pricing on a 2011 M3. I had heard that lease rates were good, and decided to give him a call just to chat. After a 5-minute, straight to the point conversation, I was ready to pull the trigger. Coming from an Alpine White on Fox Red E92 M3, I wanted something different this time. So, I opted to *try* and get Fire Orange (hence my username, coming from the paint code of Fire Orange, U94/2). Ryan assured me that it was going to be a difficult and lengthy process, and that it was a crap shoot to try and get approved. So, we submitted the order, and waited... for quite a long time!

One day, FINALLY, I got the call from Ryan giving me the good news: "We got approved!!!" From there it was a lengthy process to schedule ED, and await for all the different BMW parties to communicate and get everything worked out. So the order was finally placed, finalized, and approved: 2011.75, Individual Fire Orange, M3 Coupe, Black Novillo leather, Carbon Leather, 6MT, Convenience Package, Premium Package, BMW Apps, SAT Radio, Smartphone Integration, Carbon Fiber Roof, Spoiler Delete, and iPod/USB Adapter.

From there, the European Delivery dates were confirmed: August 19th 2011! Time to start planning

We opted to make our trip August 15th - 23rd and go from Munich to Florence Italy via the infamous Stelvio Pass; a lifetime goal of mine! (Yes, pictures below :P )

I need to make a quick note here, and let everyone know that my experience with Ryan Amico was definitely THE BEST car shopping experience of my life. Everything was easy, documented, communication was outstanding, and it was just incredible at how well everything came to life so easily. I will *never* buy another BMW from anyone else other than Ryan. Mind you, I am 3,000 miles away!

So here it is! A journal from my European Delivery trip up unti the mods that I have collected while waiting for the car to get to the US, and finally now my Performance Center Delivery next week.

Here is the current mod list of parts I've bought so far, as well as the parts that will be purchased over the next few days:

Current Mod List of parts waiting for the car:

IND (OEM) Reflectors painted Fire Orange
OEM M3 Edition front grilles
OEM M3 Edition side grilles

MORR MonoForged VS8.2 (Gloss Black)
Bridgestone RE-11 (245/35/19 & 275/30/19)

Mods to be purchased over the next few days:

Stoptech Trophy ST60 380mm BBK
KW Sleeve Over Suspension System

PlannBee, great question!! I did the "spoiler delete" option from factory, so that their was no spoiler installed from factory. It has been my experience through the various BMW's I've owned that the tape they use on the stock spoilers is a pain in the ass to remove. The elbow grease, dental floss, and products used always end up leaving swirl marks in the trunk, and for an anal guy like me, it drives me crazy and makes me bring out the polisher!

So, this time around, I figured I'd skip the mess all together, order the BMW Performance spoiler (which I was set on anyway), and not have to worry about it!

Plenty of updates over the next few days, to stay subscribed!!

Great pics, I think our cars were built alongside one another, they are literally identical....

Good to see more Fire Orange II M3s around before production STOPS......

Enjoy in the best of health.
