Totally down for a spot on a potential group buy for sure!! Car only has 39k miles on it but would feel better to have this issue permanently resolved and this looks like the best way so far. No special tools or retiming required either!

Seeing how since I posted about trying to reach him this morning and a few other members have shown interest in doing a potential group buy, count me in if we can arrange that, in the mean time I will contact him as well and show my interest. This appears to be the easiest method for fixing this issue, and I’m sure as time goes on will only get more common, so maybe slonik can be the one stop shop for these pieces before the bigger companies jump in and try and make a quick buck.
Appreciate the info so far and glad to be a part of this forum group! 🙏🏽 |

I would probably be in for a set also, going to be doing valve covers this winter and since i'm in there kind of thing.
Also if we do end up getting a group buy or something going. I have no problem helping and or being the receiving end and ship out to all participants if that is easier for him. |

Great thread, thanks Audioslave686 and everyone else. Time to buy some and look at a UK group buy.

Would love to pick up a set also for future use. Where can we get in contact with him?
Side note, I hope the clips are strong enough to hold the covers in place as opposed to popping them right off. Since it's made out of aluminum is it soft enough to bend slowly?

Mine is at 53k miles (+ daily/calmly driven) which is fairly low in my book. Checking and sure enough both right side covers has come lose, wtf. Hopefully not worse on the other side. We shall see.

I don't see them coming off. I hope I will never have to remove these caps, cause it's going to be pretty painful |

Mine failed 6 years ago at 39k miles before anybody was aware of this issue. It was not a good time.

I've been in touch with Slonik and he said no group buy right now but they are available for purchase. $450 shipped for a set of 4.

The Slon solution looks great, but it sucks that i just did my valve cover gaskets and new bolt set 6 months ago 500 miles. Will i have to replace the valve cover bolts again?

I just removed and replaced my 3yo bolts. They looked like new, including the rubber washers. I do not believe it would be an issue if you reuse them. |

Just contacted Mikhail for a set. I just did my valve cover a short while ago too. But at 180k miles, I don't want to risk these plastic covers destroying my engine. Gonna just redo the gaskets when it's time to change the spark plug and put these shinny cover on.

The rubber washers were all f'ed. and you cannot get them separately. But if the bolts are pretty much new, there shouldn't be any concerns. |
