Does this DTC button do anything?

Right below the hazard button, I've tried pressing and pressing and holding, nothing?

I can press and hold the traction control button down by the shifter and that works fine.

But I think Traction control and Stability Control are different things.

Thats it Bimmer, now I remember, its not DCT on mine either but to reset the flat indicator or something. Does some folks have pressure displayed inside? My M235 buddy have it but obviously newer car.

Cheers

M3s have a TPMS Reset button there, which you have to hold for 10 seconds while stopped to trigger, and which you shouldn't do until you've verified that your tire pressures are correct, since the new calibration becomes the baseline that is assumed to be correct. TPMS in this car doesn't measure absolute pressure but rather watches for relative changes from the set baseline, which is why the baseline has to be right.

If that's an M3, maybe that button was replaced with the button part from a regular series car. You can see what that button should look like in the M3 Supplement. But on series cars, DTC disengages some traction control (while leaving stability control working) to allow wheelspin in scenarios like trying to get out of snow where you don't want the computer cutting power when wheelspin is detected. But base series cars don't have the DSC Off button that M3s do; instead, you hold the DTC button down rather than just pressing it.

Thanks, that sounds like what happened, someone replace the vents. Both of the side vents were broken too, so yeah.. I don't understand how people can break so much stuff in their cars.
