Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

I've been running the Vredestein ULTRAC SESSANTA and to be honest, I like them much more than my original Michelin's that came with car.

I get double the mileage and the grip has been the same from the very beginning to the very end (almost bald). I was sliding all over the place when my original Michelin's started to wear out. However, I've never tried the Pilot Super Sport.

If you are ok with the low tread wear the RS3s are really good

I just had my car shod on Michy PSSs then due to crap luck I had a bent rim and 2 flats (same side) and BMW dealer could not lay hands on PSSs for RHS (wtf?! How hard is it? The dealer had the car for over 2 weeks, bit of a story there )

So, FOUR news PS2s later - with my near-new PSSs were gone (< 2k miles) - and so back to factory spec.

I am finding the rear more squirrelly w/ the PS2s back on than w/ the PSSs . Bummer. Really pissed but have to get the use from them until I get to replace again

This! Great tire, but I achieve 6000 miles of street use, 1 autocross, and 2 track days (one in the wet where I wasn't driving as hard). I had to replace all 4 tires.

I hope the PSS can last longer.

I've got 1 auto x to do on 12/01 then my PSSs will be toast and I'll be mounting on a set of AD08s. I'm curious to see if I can squeeze as many miles out of the AD08s as I did out of the PSSs if I flip them since they're a symmetrical design...

Well I just ordered me a set of Bridgstone S-04 Pole Positions to fit my ARC-8 wheels. They might be a few points below my PS2's but I'm not pushing this M3 on a track far enough to make a difference I think. Saved $400 too! Hope I like them for a while.

Update 2022

This thread hasn't been updated for a while. I have a 2008 with 60k on my 2nd set of Michelin PSS on 18 inch wheels. I don't drive it much fyi. They are cupped and rumble at low speeds I assume it wasn't aligned properly? Not sure. Feel free to offer remedies.

Anyway time for some new tires, what is the latest greatest for the E92 M3 these days.

Thanks

PS4S is the direct successor of the PSS. I like the feedback of the PSS better.
Continental ECS is also a great street/autoX tire, I have them on nearly all of my cars.
