What is the point in this thread.

Someone enlighten me.

I for one wouldn't tell anyone here how much I earned and I doubt too many people would do it either.

P.S.
Your poll .............. it doesn't go high enough.

There really isn't a point but I do find it interesting nonetheless. I'd prefer to see BMW's demographic numbers for the M cars. No real reason besides curiousity.

BTW since the poll is >150t at the highest bucket I read the upper bound to be infinity. I'm pretty sure you're somewhere below that.

To me, if one person still living at home with under $50k of income says "Maybe I should move out before I spend all this money on a car" then the whole thread is worth it.

As for a previous poster's assertions that stocks are bad in America, heh. This is the best time to buy if you plan to hold long-term. Cheap stock = good. If you are a day trader, which is exceedingly stupid unless you are exceedingly bright and talented at picking stocks, maybe it's a bad time.

OTOH, I need more people scared about the market so the people in front of me on the list pass for a bit and move me up. 6 to go!

Not sure if you are referring to me, but I've been sitting on the sidelines with a nearly 100% cash position for the past 6 months, so I am beginning to make my move. I took some positions today. I don't day trade. In the long run, I should profit, but you never know!

I wasn't. Glad you timed well. Most market-timers are shitty at it, especially after tax.

correct cheap does = good when buying. Do u know that the market has bottomed out? If you do then you should be investing everything you have now, dont buy the M3 and order a vanquish or something because your knowledge will be worth millions.

wow this thread has really gone way off topic...

Judging from the results they don't seem to be really reliable nor accurate.

Not that I don't think the results aren't a little inaccurate but you are on a BMW M forum. This forum does not represent the average population.

Excellent points in that post. Those questions have popped up in my head as well after reading some of the comments.

And I bet if we take a poll at an exclusive country club, it would be 95%. It is no surprise that a majority of people considering the M3 have an income of $150K or above.

Would you mind saying in which sector/profession you get paid 150k+ straight out of school ? I just find that hard to believe.
