Really? NASA as a "good event." I know you love VIR Doc, but you don't really need to push events there that are so-so for DE. Mustang club earlier this year which you had planned to attend, but I went because timing was good was pretty mediocre and NASA is fine for club racing and time trials, but not so hot for DE. Just my opinion.

I plan on going to Chin. See if I can sign up for advanced solo and break 2:10 on street tires and EDC suspension.

Agree re NASA, but track time is track time. At your level and driving skill, one car, or fifty cars on the track makes little difference.... Just turn on your lights and they will see you coming. :-) See you at Chin.

I love NASA. They have capable instructors and the average driver there is way faster than the average driver at a (nearly any other club) event. Plus you get to watch the races in between sessions.

I plan on achieving this goal by doing some late braking into rollercoaster and then try to carry more speed through hog pen and get on full throttle earlier to get a better run down the front straight. Also plan on pulling the pins on the front shock mounts to get that extra negative camber. Other than that, pray for good cool weather and drop my tire pressure to 30 psi cold instead of 32 psi last time. The AD08s got greasy after about 5 laps, most likely due to the tire pressure going over 40 psi hot......

You better go ahead a sign up quick, Johnny B. Goode, before they fill up.

I'll see you there. I should have the new flux capacitor installed by then...and it'll be ON, like Donkey Kong!

Doc, I hope to get to see you up there too. I just luuuuv VIR.

Do you tap the brakes on the approach to Hogpen to settle the front? With the pins still in and stock suspension, I would always have to wait out some initial understeer, but less if I tapped the brakes.

I did the pins last weekend and can absolutely feel the extra camber. So much so that I think I'll get camber plates in the spring.

Unfortunately guys, I can't join you in November because I'm all out of budget, going as I am to the USGP in Austin. (blush). The sacrifices I sometimes make...

Epic fail, Chin is full. Emailed them to get on waiting list. Just when I got my leave approved too. Can't wait till I retire in 7 yrs so I don't have to go through all the red tape to go anywhere.

No, I was taught to do all my braking at the top of Hogpen. Once I make that initial left, I'm back on the gas. I actually have gone through there where I lift just a hair while making the first right (because I recognized that I went in too hot and I'm in an understeering condition) and it brought my tail end out. Caught it everytime except for once and that's when I spun around and mowed the grass on the left. This was with PS2s running with TrackDaze back in May. But it's good to hear that pulling the pins make a noticeable difference.

How much are the tickets for the GP? My wife was going to surprise me with tickets to the F1 race in Hockenheim back when I was stationed in Germany but after she found out it was 600 euros for the noise bleed section with no seats, she said f that.

My friend and I paid some $320 each for decent seats, but not the best. That's for the entire weekend though, fri/sat/sun. Race day tickets were around $150 or so.

We would have liked to get Turn 15 but at that moment those were sold out. They brought some more on sale recently for $500, so I imagine they still have some seats left.

That's not the killer though, lodging is. We are paying $430 a night for a freakin Comfort Inn lol. Oh well, I hope the show is worth it.

Newbie question now, what is Chin?

Ok, at least the ticket price is not as ridiculous as the German GP. But $430 a night is crazy for Comfort Inn, I would just bring my sleeping bag and call it good. I'm sure it's all worth it though. Chin Motorsports, just another organization. http://www.chinmotorsports.com/

Thats one of the scariest places on track to carry extra speed through.

Agreed, but I think that is the place I am losing most of my time. I have from turn 1 - 10 pretty much nailed. The rest, not so much. Still thinking about Oak Tree, and Rollercoaster.
