I only "bet" in the stock market. ...unless in Vegas, then just a few rounds of BlackJack, and even then...only for chump change.

I'm not really into betting on the racing performance of people I don't know in places that I'm not. actually I'm not into betting much at all

My car dyno'd at 322WHP and 378 lb.-ft. RWTQ, which translates into approx. ~ 379BHP and 445 lb.-ft. TQ, and my dyno was a bit low compared with a few other PROcede 335i's...some have dyno'd at ~330WHP.

btw -- from Shiv's dynos of PROcede v2.0, this upgraded s/w should net us PROcede 335i's with approx. 410-425BHP with TQ remaining the same or a bit higher!!!!! :rocks:
what did it dyno at before? I don't pay much attention to the 335 dyno threads, but most seem to claim that 300 stock is an understatement, and IIRC some 335's were dynoing at 280 rwhp (don't quote me on that, I don't really remember)

My stock dyno was 265WHP and 287 lb-ft. RTWQ...so approx. 312BHP and 338 lb.-ft TQ; my car increased + 57WHP and + 92 lb.-ft TWRQ.

I thought procede was about 350hp, you have to have 400 hp to have a ratio you claim

I'm sure adding some HP is safe, but 100 hp from software alone, safely
Procede is about 390 hp. Remember that the 335 is not 300 hp stock. It's about 315-320 hp according to everyone's dynos...of course give or take a few hp, as every dyno and car is slightly different.

I was running a quick errand for my wife when up behind me came a black E60...didn't know it was an M5 at this point. Since he was on my a$s, I gunned it up to the red light (~ 1/8 mi. away) just for fun, and it took him a while, but he caught up.

Then, as the light turned green and I was still in front, I gunned it again and he didn't catch me until I put on the brakes and shut it down, since it was a urban rd. with a low speed limit. He then flew by me until the next red light; that's when I realized it was an M5...saw those quad pipes and the ///M5 logo!!!! Here's where it really got interesting.

As he took a right at the light (and I rolled up behind him), he gunned it and I followed...but he couldn't lose me; in fact, I caught up quickly and began to pull on him @ ~ 60mph - ~ 90mph when we had to shut it down again.

Yes, I know, those M5s have much more top end power, and he probably would've walked me above 120mph, but I was really under the impression that a $90k E60 M5 would walk a PROcede 335i right from the get-go...but, apparently NOT SO.

In addition, I know some of you might say...well, he didn't press that M power button. Although I don't know for sure, I'd say that he must have been in P500 M power mode (full 507HP), since he knew we were having a little fun together for several minutes and a few runs. I'm confident he pushed that little "M" button his steering wheel.

The only other things that could've inhibited him was the fact that he had 1 other guy as a passenger (and I was alone in my car), and the hot, humid weather (93 degrees F / 61% R.H.).

When we shut it down for the 3rd time, we both rolled down our windows and the 2 guys gave me a thumbsup and said that they didn't know the 335i was THAT fast! I said I have the PROcede piggyback computer and told them about my HP/TQ, and my run at the local 1/4 mi. drag strip; their jaws dropped to the floor...they nearly flipped out as they had never heard of the "PROcede 335i." I told them to look it up on the Internet!!!!!

Anyway, just thought I'd share..no flames please.
LOL I believe you man I had almost the exact experience with my car and an E60 M5 and an M6 Vert as well but I'm not even gonna read the rest of the thread cause I already know the excuses and flames you'll get but it usually comes from people who haven't actually done it or don't even have a 335 so I feel you.Reminds me the time I raced an M6 that couldn't pass me untill 100 or so from a stop and he said "Nice car it's fast this my brothers car and It needs an Oil Change" I said "So do I Thanks"...flame suit on...

HOLY SHIT YOU ARE 10!!! AHAHAHAHAH

This thread is hysterical...here we have E90 boy who has a 325i, and ward who has a Z4 3.0, talking shit about 335is and Z4Ms. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Z4M isn't supposed to be a drag car. It's SUPPOSED to be a TRACK STAR. And it is, and if you think otherwise...you're retarded.

This thread is pretty funny..... Back to topic, a buddy of mine has a new M5, although we haven't raced, I did drive his car and I drove it hard. By the way it felt when I nailed it and stayed on it, it didn't feel like it had anything on the 335 until we were upwards of 110- 120. That's where the car continued to pull. So yes I do believe the 335 would've give the M5 the run the OP stated FWIW...

FWIW Edmunds (http://www.edmunds.com) tested a stock M5 at 4.8 0-60 and 12.8 ¼ mile, and a PROcede 335i at 4.6 / 13, which corroborate fully SFlgator’s story.

So you are comparing real numbers versus mags?

Goto dragtimes for some realistic M5 times. Then isolate to the same tracks and hopefully similar conditions.

No.

Magazines have proper test equipment and drivers. They drive cars well prepared by manufacturers (or tuners in that case) and are usually tested at the same facilities. These numbers, at least for serious magazines, are the closest to real.

On the other hand, drag strip numbers depends from so many variables that they are quite meaningless in real life.

Enjoy your mag racing (they are every bit as variable as any other metric)..... Try to visit some tracks and put some skin in the game.

I did not make it to the track because it started raining in my area, and didn't want to risk driving 100 miles total for nothing.

But that was a modded E39 M5.....we wanted to race a stock E60 M5! We wanted to validate Slfgator's story that the 335 can hang with the E60 M5 up to 100mph.

I've beat stock E39 M5s at the track.

When you get an opportunity, please do run against a stock M5 and let us know the results. Thanks.

Lol this thread is getting crazy. Funny thing is this is the first time I saw it.

Im not going to say whos faster than others but a friend wanted me to post videos of personal experience. Im by all means not the fastest 335i or the best driver. Im guess im just the most filmed... lol

So here you go.

These videos were taking a while back.

The videos of me vs my buddies z4m coupe were taken when I had the following mods :

procede, custom exhaust, itg filter. Same old 275 nittos in the rear. (1 passenger)

My buddies z4m coupe had supersprint exhaust and grouppe m intake.

I forget what speed. Probably like 60-130. Been so long since Ive seen these videos.

Sorry for the sound. We were both on blue tooth, you can hear him say "shit... jesus" on the phone tho lol.

40-120/130?

Heres a couple vs my friends stock e46 m3. 1 passenger for me. He had 1 or none I cant remember.

Mods i had at this time:

Procede, custom exhaust, itg filter, 275 nittos.

0-120mph. If i remember I boged this launch.

Heres my other friends stock e46 m3.... AKA The infamous youtube videos :

I had 1 passenger he had none.

Mods I had here were:

Procede, custom exhaust, ITG filter, 275 nittos

From a 15 mph roll:

from a dig :

Friends catback and cai ls2 gtohonks came from the gto, we both had 1 passenger)

Mods here:

procede, itg filter, custom exhaust, 275 nittos

60 mph to 140

60-140/150 i forget.

My friends 390 rwhp e39 m5, yes hes modded...Hes the strongest e39 m5 Ive run. Well at least around here. We have a few friends with modded / stock e39 m5's and hes the quickest.

My mods here :

Custom exhaust, custom FMIC, custom ducts, custom gutted cats pipes. (basicly custom DP), procede. stock filter.

all to governed speeds... well for me

I have tons more videos but I kinda got sick of trying to find them all.

All the races were from sea level. These are just my personal experiences. Hope this help anyone wanting to know whats what.

My car is back in the shop getting more crap done. All in all I guess its like a progression of my car in these videos. But I still need a tune.

Hopefully I will get it within 2 weeks. I just have to make an appointment.
